You cannot store any formulas. The device has only read only memory. You cannot add to this memory.

Yes, it si possible, but as a teacher I am wary of teaching anybody how to cheat. **No reflexion on you, **If your teacher wanted to show you how to store formulas s/he would have done so. Awfully sorry.

**However, nobody nor nothing prevents you from reading the manual and learning how you do it. That is a skill worth having.**

Sorry, but you cannot.

You can type in a formula that involves the memory variables X,Y, A, B,C,D, E, =, . Such a formula is meant to be evaluated to get a solution (X by default). Once you type the formula you press the Shifted function SOLVE and you will be prompted for the constants, for Y etc. when you press the EXE/= key you get the value of X.

If you turn off the calculator or change the calculation MODE, it is wiped out of memory.

To make a long story short, you cannot STORE formulas in the calculator. Better try to memorize them (commit then to YOUR OWN memory).

There are a number of ways you can store a formula.

The first is to store is in y Vars. Just input your single variable equation into the graphing screen, then trace to find the value.

If you want to store something more complicated than that, or just store some plain text, creating a non functional program is then next best way.

To create the program: Hit the**apps** key and then scroll down to **7:Program Editor **then hit **enter**
Create a new program (name it whatever you want).

Type in your text and when you are done hit**2nd** then **quit**

It should display the text your previously typed in.

To display the program:
Hit the **apps** key and then scroll down to **7:Program Editor** then hit **enter**
Thenscroll to **2: open, **hit** enter. **Select your program then press** enter.**

There is no special setup. You just have to have the formula in front of your eyes and type in the numbers as you would by hand.

The area of a trapezoid is given by

Area= (measure of Longer base PLUS measure of shorter base) * (measure of height) /2

If A is the measure of the longer base, B the measure of the shorter base, C the measure of the Height --ALL EXPRESSED IN SAME UNIT--you can type in the formula (in MathIO display mode) as

0.5 [*] [ ( ] A [+] B [ ) ][ / ] C [=]

You can also store the values in memory. To store a value, enter the value then press [SHIFT][RCL] and the key that has the letter next to it. For A it is the change sign key [(-)]

Ex:

15 [SHIFT][RCL] A

10 [SHIFT][RCL] B,

7 [SHIFT][RCL] C

To calculate, you have to recall the values stored in the variables by pressing [RCL] A, [RCL] B, [RCL] C and use the key sequence

0.5 [*] [ ( ] [RCL] A [PLUS ] [RCL] B [ ) ][ / ] [RCL] C [=]

Do not forget the parentheses to enforce the priority rule for operations.

If you are in MathIO, you will be able to verify the correctness of the formula before you press the [=] key to evaluate it.

when you press the keypad the calculator scanline translate and encode this function to digital formula(1&0)which the brain can understand(microprocessor)and this digital formula stored in a store called register which can easily called out to go to display where you can see it.
