Question about Kenwood KDC-135 CD Player

New KDC-135 won't turn on...

Installed a KDC 135 in my sons 96 Honda Accord this weekend but it will not turn on. I have verified 12V to the radio and 3V to the back-up power. Any clues on what's going on appreciated.

Thanks,

    Thanks Robotek.

That was the problem. I forget where we found it but a diagnostic tip of bypassing the vehicle wiring by connecting both the primary and backup wires to + 12V directly led us to the problem which was in the vehicle's electrical system.

Hey Bandad, you will need 12 volts at the backup wire also. Try that and see how you go.

NEED CAR STEREO SECURITY CODE FOR A 1998 HONDA

If the code is not written on the radio casing or inside the glove compartment (or similar place inside your car ) then the majority of HONDA codes are only available from here

https://radio-navicode.honda.com

You will require the car VIN number and Radio serial Number

If they cannot provide your code then you will have to try your HONDA Main Dealer .....or a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)
