Your ice maker inlet valve has gone bad.

Turn the ice maker off by lifting the wire that s on the side of the ice maker up until you feel it click then it should stay in the up position. This is off. Do not use your ice dispenser as it can be damaged by the clumped ice and leave the ice maker off as well until you replace that valve. The part number you need is 67005154.

To replace the valve you will need to trace your water line from the valve to the nearest cutoff. Turn the water supply valve off. You will also need a towel to catch the water that comes out of the lines and you will need to UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR so you don't get shocked. Then replace the valve. Turn the water on and look carefully for a leak. What I do is wipe my fingertip around all the joints a few times drying them each time til I get a few dry wipes. Turn the ice maker on and again look for leaks after the water cycles in. If all the joints are dry after you should be good to go.

Thanks for asking.

I should have also mentioned you need to cut the water supply and the ice maker off now.

    Thanks

having a similar problem with my kenmore side by side, Model 106. 954 5780. it still makes ice fine but where the water tube comes in at the back of the ice maker, there is a big block of ice underneath where the ice cubes form. do you think this is the same problem with the inlet valve? thanks

What is the problem when water drips constantly from the ice maker into the ice tray, making one big block of ice

This sounds like the automatic water valve is not shutting off completely. It may be due to something in the valve that is keeping the it partially open. You might could take it off and clean it out. Or replace it with a new one.

I have a Frigidaire professional side by side fridge model# LPHS2687KFO water is leaking before entering ice maker thus the ice maker is not working, water is leaking in freezer

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Ice maker leaks water

The GE Icemaker has a center bottom plunger that drives the ice cube discharge tray up and down. If that center plunger oring has failed the ice maker will leak in a drip drip drip fashion. If it only leaks once every cube cycle then it is overflowing when filling. This can be corrected 2 ways. One is to turn of the water supply line and disconnet the water line on the back of the unit. Place the hose into a large bowl of some kiind and then have someone open the valve until the flow is full and then reduce that flow about 50 percent. Remember how many turns it took to get that flow and shut off the water supply line. Then reconnect the line and turn on the water the number of turns you counted when shutting off the water. The PROPER way of setting the water flow timing is to frome the front cover of the ice maker and turn the adjustment screw in the DECREASE direction. My suspicions are that the plunger o-ring is leaking. It costs nearly as much to have the service call to replace the o-ring as it does to replace the ice maker. Your choice but I would replace the icemaker if the plunger is leaking. (mid-bottom point of ice maker) Just note that once a leak occurs in the plunger area if the plunger has corroded the new o-ring will wear out rapidly.

Ice maker leaking inside freezer compartment, water dripping down from unit

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.
The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Ice maker drips water into ice tray

Probably the solenoid valve leaks(electric valve that opens when the ice maker calls for water) and overflood the ice maker, the only way to fix this is replacing the solenoid.

Shelf kitchenaid Refrigerator's ice maker leaking water

Turn off the water line that goes to the refrigerator and see if still leaking if not the problem is with the solenoid valve ,which is an electric valve that opens only when the ice maker calls for water and is located at the back of the fridge in the bottom behind the cover(if your refrigerator has water and ice dispenser ,Its called dual valve). And if leaks when you turn on the water ,this part has to be replaced .But if leaks and overflow the ice maker only when it calls for water the problem is in the ice maker and to repair it will cost almost as a new one .

The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

LG ICE MAKER

Be sure that the fill tube is getting into the ice maker and that the ice maker is not blocked with ice.  If everything seems ok, you may have a leaking water valve which causes it to constantly drip water into the ice maker causing the block of ice.
