Place the document on a scanner, Scan the document first onto your computer save the scan output with a name you can remember. Open your email, click attachment browse to the document you just scanned and click attach.

Generally, when you scan a document, it is a photo of the item. You can use a photo editor to enlarge then save the enlargement, once done, file, send to, email recipient, this should attach the scan as an attachment

Can Lexmark X2600M printer scan documents to email?


If I'm understanding your question, this printer can print, fax and scan. So, you can scan an item, save in a file and send as an attachment in an Email. Hope this helps.

How to scan documents and send using email


Hello, my name is Chris. Scan them to your computer. After they have been scanned, locate the scanned document. Go into your email, compose new message, and than look for an ( add attachment button befor you sent the email.) Locate the document you wish to send in email in the box that appears, and attach. than send.

  1. Scan the item and save as a file
  2. Open a new email either on your PC email client, (ie, Outlook or thunderbird,...) or the web based email client you use (ie. Gmail, hotmail, etc.).
  3. Attach the scan to the email (they ALL have a means of attaching items to them.)
  4. Send
If you are looking to attach the text directly into an email, not as an attachment, you will need to install your HP software to do Optical Character recognition that came with your printer or from HP.Com, then scan then convert the scanned file. the only problem is you will need to correct the OCR errors, and there can be many.

If you have installed the software of the printer already then you can use the hp solution center to scan a document or a picture. And make sure that you have save the picture or document. After saving it to your computer you can open your email and put the document or picture as an attachments

To email the scans, simply select the "attach" icon (usually a paper clip) and select the scanned items.
