Question about Frigidaire 22.5 Cu. Ft. Counter-Depth Side-by-Side Refrigerator - Stainless-Steel
My ice-maker would only crush ice instead of shooting out whole ice cubes, so I completely unthawed the side by side freezer. It fixed the problem but the alarm keeps beeping every minute even though the door is closed. I beeps 5 times every darn minute. I had to turn off the fridge and freezer for about an 1 1/2 to unthaw the freezer. Yeahhh! I'm happy to have the ice cube problem fixed but now I'm having this other problem with the alarm. Should I unplug the whole fridge or turn off the breaker to reset?????

SOURCE: ice despenser
your refrig has a solenoid that opens and closes a flapper in the bucket to bypass the ice crushers look on the bottom of the ice container and there is a brass rod that is bent at the end. if yo will find where the end of that rod inserts into the dispenser motor inside the freezer there is a saddle that has most likely frozen in the up position. you can use a hair dryer to warm the area up and pull the saddle back to the down position. its kind of hard to tell you with out pics but hopefully you get an idea of wht i'm trying to describe..

yea! I have been without cubes for 2 years. I slid out the tray, found the lever in the back where the rod went in, pulled it down, reinserted the ice tray, and IT WORKED! At first I thought I broke the lever, because I had to hold it down with a knife while I was inserting the tray, but it just must have been stuck. I am soooo happy!

could be that the ice maker arm is getting stuck or may have some frost on it. can you supply the complete model # please?

SOURCE: ice maker only makes crushed ice
on the bottom of the bin there is a metal rod, this goes into the back wall where the solenoid is. find the square hole it goes into, pull down the white plastic piece with your index finger. you should here a clunk. now put the bin back and check to see if ok. if not you may need to replace the solenoid assy.
