My computer does recognise the Sansa e250. It did before and now it just recharges the battery and turns on the MP3 player

Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out:

I dont know how to reset and clear every thing off my sansa

You will have to format the player from the player's menu, not the computer because if you do it from the computer,it will only sync with your computer and it will not work on any other computer. This will delete all of the music off of the player, so copy and save any wanted tracks. But it will refresh your player so that it should work like normal and it will be cleared. There should be a option in the player's menu that should say format and select that. After it is done formatting, then connect to the computer and make sure it works.

Cant find the reset button on my MP3 player

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa! The reset is actually format. Go into the menu and find format. Accept the format device and it will reset everything. If this was helpful, please take a moment and rate the solution! Thanks, and Good Luck!

Try reformatting the unit using your PC as a FAT formatting. Don't use "quick format" so you can completely erase any glitchy memory points.

Also, press and hold the Reset button (little hole on the bottom right of the player) to reset the software.

Good luck!

There is a little hole at the bottom of your mp3 player. It's the reset button. Click some lead out of a mechanical pencil and insert it into the hole. That will reset your mp3 player, and will probably take care of the problem. If it doesn't, let me know. I had the same problem, and all I did was hit the reset button. The hole is really tiny, but you can't miss it. -Sarah
