Try Pressing Ctrl+alt then the arrow keys. I think ctrl+alt+up will do the trick.

Sideways Screen: try this
Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + UP Arrow Key, or try Ctrl + Alt + and a different Arrow Key.

My dog stepped on my hp mini and the screen is now sideways even after shutting it and restarting it.

Hello,

It sounds like this should work for you. Press 'ctrl'+'atl'+the up arrow on your keyboard. You can use the same keys and change the arrow key pressed to rotate your screen any direction you need. This feature is usually used with LCD monitors so you can display a picture in portrait mode.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

MY dog stepped on the keyboard of the lab top and now the screen is all rolling colors and you cant see anything

He broke the lcd screen. You have to replace it. Sorry. Advice for the future is to not leave the laptop where anyone can step on it, even a dog.

Hi,
You may try these steps. If you are facing a 90/180 degrees rotation issue with your displayed screen, this can be either due to a problem with your graphic card or a wrong manipulation of the hot keys of your keyboard. This problem can be easily fixed if you follow the steps below:
Solution 1
  • Step 1: With the Desktop screen displayed in front of you, use your mouse left-click to access the Graphic Properties? option
  • Step 2: Select the Rotation Tab
  • Step 3: Uncheck the box labeled Enable Rotation?
Solution 2
  • Step 1: With the Desktop screen displayed in front of you, use your mouses left-click to access the Properties? option
  • Step 2: Select the Parameters tab and click the “Advancedâ€? option
  • Step 3: From the displayed list, choose the name corresponding to your graphic card model
  • Step 4: Select the Rotateoption and change it to 0 degrees or to the “normalâ€? mode.
Solution 3
You can also make use of the hotkeys to change the rotation of your screen
Press CTRL+ALT Gr+Up/Down/Left/Right arrows
Solution 4
If none of the above solutions has solved your problem, this might be due to a bad configuration of your graphic card. I will strongly suggest you to contact a computer technician to fix this issue.

I hope this works for you. Good Luck!

The arrows arent working, scroll lock must be on and I cant figure out how to undo. there is no scroll lock button

GOOD NEWS!
There is a scroll lock button on your computer and this is how you get to it.
Step 1
Click the Windows Start button which is located in the lower left corner of your screen.
Step 2
Click on All Programs. You will see a list of all the programs installed on your computer.
Step 3
Select Accessories from the list of available Programs. It is usually in the upper left on the list of available programs as the list is alphabetized.
Step 4
Select Accessibility, which is a sub-program of Accessories.
Step 5
Select the On-Screen Keyboard.
Step 6
Select the Scroll-Lock by clicking on the on-screen 'key' labelled 'slk' located upper right on the on-screen keyboard between the 'psc' and the 'brk' keys.

This should get that pesky scroll lock off right away!
Sincerely, CBR2009
