Alexanderhic, When the ac to dc power supply inside lcd monitors develop "electronic noise" on the dc rails that power up the vga to lcd digital LCD interface board it can cause very "squirrelie" things to appear on the screen of your lcd panel. You will need to visit YOUTUBE to find DIY video clips to know how to disassemble unit to do inspection for BAD SWOLLEN filter capacitors that may have failed and learn how to replace them with new ones. See how many "hits" you get if you query the web for "swollen capacitors" or "bulging capacitors" or "failed electrolytic filter capacitors" or "CapXon capacitors" If this was of some help pllease leave additional comment or testimonial and rate this response on fixya. 12fixlouie
