Stops working and reads Overload

hi there i have had this problem with technics amplifiers generally with them it was negative and positive mix up between input terminals for the speakers or in other case's running the amp with 2 many speakers.
eg. having 2 speakers Bi wired into 1 input making a 6.1 receiver into a 12.1 which makes the amp struggle causing overload or the worst case is a power unit problem.

Been using for years in same configuration, all of a sudden it is going into an overload condition. No crossed wires, no exessive volume, what gives?

It could also be overheating... when it overloads does it feel excessively hot? Seek the reason - restricted ventilation, clogged vent holes, for example.

If it's NOT hot, carefully disconnect the speakers at the receiver end one at a time to see if the overload goes away.

What does it means when it says overload on an sa-he200?

This is the same as protect mode and means that a problem has been detected in the final output stage of the amplifier. This typically means that either the speaker wires are crossed or (more likely) the actual amp section has a problem. This unit has at least one "amp-pac" or IC that is the output amplifier section. This part may need to be replaced. If so, the part alone will run about $90. A local service tech should be able to determine whether or not the amp-pac is the problem by takeing a few measurements.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Getting overload display i have 4 ohm speakers hooked up to it

Receiver is designed for 8ohm speakers. you can't use car audio speakers. they are 4ohm. Most receivers will tolerate 6ohms but not 4. This will short the mains and destroy your power amp!

SA HE200 ~ Overload at power up

First of, be sure volume is turned all the way down before or as you are powering it it.
Second if that does not work disconnect all speaker, and input/outputs.  Power the device on and see if it says overload.
If it does skip the rest of these steps, your capacitors are bad or the power supply is no longer functioning correctly.
If it doesnt, start with testing each speaker at power up.  Match the speaker to the output it goes on, power the device see if it says it.
If it does on any speaker test it is a speaker issue or a terminal issue.  To test for terminal or speaker issue plug a different/ known to work speaker in that same terminal, if it doesnt say overload it is a speaker issue, if it does say overload it is a terminal issue.
Once you have made sure all speakers and terminals work correctly start plugging input and outputs in and test individually.

Video Issue with SA-HE200

You might want to re-wire your system so that the SA-HE200 only handles audio for the various components. Run video lines directly to the TV/Monitor. Always use the best (most advanced) matching cable type between the two.

I always setup my systems like this anyway. You end up using less and shorter cable runs and often get to use a video cable type the audio receiver doesn't support.
