My camera's software is damaged. how re install

Hi there, type into your search bar or search engine; Ricoh CX1 Digital Camera download software . Hit search and it should take you to a link that will lead you to where you need to be. It will give you an option to download the new software for your specific camera. It will usually lead you from that point. Hope this helps.

Please explain how to get pictures from the camera onto a computer

Unless you have a card slot in your pc you will have to use the lead that was supplied with the camera.

If you dont have the usb lead then your going to need to buy one, best place to look would be ebay..

If you have it then connect the lead to the camera, then to the computer and switch the camera on.

Windows will recognise the camera and you should either get an option of what to do next or you should be able to see the camera in "My Computer" where you can double click the icon and browse to your photo's.

What type usb lead?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

The camera is a vivitar model 3815

There should be a rubber cover over the USB adapter on the camera. Lift it up and you will see the port to plug in the cable. Good luck.
