Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T5 Digital Camera

1 Answer

The Flash seems to have stopped working - what are my options

I double checked setting to verify I'm not in a "no-flash" or somesuch - working well one day - then nada the next. Changed up all batteries and verified charging on each. It isn't the battery. I've also reset or re-initialized the camera. Assuming I need to replace it - what's the impact?

The impact ...hmm there is nothing much ..if you are sure that this is not a issue of modes..or any other manual setting that will not default itself by the digital reset ..(some cameras have mode changer as a switch that only manually can be made..and have a no flash mode)
and if you are 110 % positive that it needs replacing ..the issue is to find one that fits..cause you may not find the exact model .for that you should open it and see the model ..(id number ) and look for specifications ..on the internet and either locate one similar on a camera parts site ..or on the manufacturer site an original one ..or buy a similar specs one ..and fit it in place ..If it will use the same power and about the same kind...to fit in place ..will work ..
Also when you open it ..take a good look cause it may be an issue of loose contact or something and the actual flash to be functional..

Is there a series of steps to force a flash, to double check my assumptions? I'd hate to bypass a step just because I think I'm competent. :-)

to be sure that it is not a setting issue ..try to reset to factory ...look in the manu cause all cameras have this feature ..There is a possibility to have a manual mode that do not support flash ..and the camera to be ok ..so ..try to reset ..and if it has switches that can not be digitally reset from the function ...put them to normal mode...I mean there are some kinda cameras that still have manually change for modes..in the classic way ..
if this isnt the case..just reset ..and after that look in the main menu on the shooting mode to see if the flash is activated..(flash on ) Probably will be a common on screen menu with arrow navigation and when you get to flash ..point to flash always on ...or flash on ..and click select or ok ..
if the feature indicates flash on ..and it will not work ..only than you can say for sure its dead..

1. The date on your computer needs to be set properly -- double click the clock verify that

4. If you use a firewall (like ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security,WindowsFirewall etc. ), it's possible

if this is the case.
5. If you disabled your firewall in the past, it still may be blocking Messenger -- try
restarting it and see if that helps the situation. You also might try uninstalling an

My sony flash memory is showing in accessible pls help

There is a way to make it not inaccessible but that would require you to reformat it using the steps below:..
1. To verify that the USB flash drive is actually the cause of the problem by inserting the drive into a USB port on a different computer. Check to see if the drive remains inaccessible on the separate computer drive. Plug the USB flash drive back into the original USB port if it still shows up as inaccessible.
2. Please open the computer's Start menu and then click on the "My Computer" button to bring up a new window with a list of the drives connected to the PC. Find the "Map A Network Drive" button at the top of the new window. Click on the button and wait for another window to pop up on the screen.
3. Now click on the "Drive Letter" drop-down menu at the top left side of the window. Select a drive letter that you want to use for the USB flash drive. Click on the "Browse" button and then locate the USB flash drive. Click on the drive and then click on the "Open" button. Click on the "Finish" button and then restart the computer.
4. Please return to the Start menu and then open the Control Panel. Double-click the icon in the window labeled as "Administrative Tools." Scroll down through the new list of options that will populate the window and then double-click the "Computer Management" link. Click on "Allow" if your computer's operating system asks for your permission to open the Computer Management menu.
5. Find the "Storage" button at the left side of the window and click on it to bring up a new list of options. Click on the option labeled as "Disk Management" and wait for the list of attached disk drives to populate the panel at the middle of the window.
6. Right-click on the drive letter you selected earlier when you mapped the USB flash drive to the computer. Click on the menu option labeled "Format." Make sure that the "File System" heading is set to "NTFS" and then click on "Start" to reformat the drive. Volia.
7. Restart your computer once the reformatting process has completely finished. Attempt to use the USB flash drive again. If still no luck, try purchasing an entirely new flash drive if the computer still will not recognize the drive, as that will indicate it is defective or physically damaged somehow.

Is it multiregional

Sony are probably the most protective manufacturer of this kind of information. All manufacturers carrying a DVD logo are obliged to say "no" but will normally intentionally leak this to boost sales, particularly in non-US areas.
