Question about Dell Latitude C610 Notebook
My laptop won't turn on. This is with a fully charged battery and/or the power adaptor. When I press the power button all of the lights (3) come on as do the lights on the right hand side (3 if I'm using the power adaptor) but they only remain on for about 3 seconds. The hard drive doesn't seem to be booting up nor does the fan turn on.
I've replaced the hybrid cooling fan and it still comes on and stays on for 3 seconds before powering off.
My C610 failed in the exact same way within the past 2 weeks. I removed the Hard Drive. In that state if it was a bad hard drive it should still boot up and be able to access the Bios screen. However it won't stay on that long. I think it would be on longer if there was no problem and the RAM was missing.
I have a compaq laptop, i was on the web and it shut off. I plugged the AC adapter in and i took the battery out and put it back in, now the orange light button is flashing (its the second button, it looks like a lighting bult). What should i do? I DO HAVE the warranty!

If the light comes on for three seconds and then go out ,generally means a power distrubution problem . remove the optical drive and memory from the system and try powering it on. If u get the same result , its time to take it to service tech , as your motherboard needs to be checked

i've been bummed with this laptop.
same thing happens to me - except all my lights come on for a split second then only the power light stays on underneath the monitor - which is black - and nothing else shows any sign of being turned on.
the f, z, n, and some other key are broken.
well - they work, but only after several hard hits.
