When pluggged in, all lights behind the buttons on control touch pad panel light up, then go out. When the 'on' button is pushed, nothing happens. Can you tell me what the problem is? Thanx

First thing to try is turning off the power to the machine for a minute and then turn it back on, if that does not fix it then electronics have a brain problem. I have noticed that appliances with electronic panel controls are having many problems, my washing machine electronic control panel is bonkers but never had problems with the old mechanical controls. In order to fix mine I would have to order the whole panel as you cannot replace parts, I'm sure you unit is the same.

Sabb or Sab Explanation for Kitchen Ranges

Here is a useful tip in identifying a frequently reported problem on some model ranges and wall ovens equipped with an Electronic Range Control (ERC) or Electronic Oven Control (EOC). An “error” code display of “Sabb" or “Sab” will be displayed and the range or oven will not function. This is called “Sabbath Mode" and it may be costing you unnecessary charges in service call fees. This is NOT a problem, but actually a feature provided by some manufacturers to enable customers of certain religious faiths to honor the Sabbath. The range will not function at all during this period and cannot be reset by unplugging the unit or turning it off. In your owner/operator's manual there should be a section that refers to "Sabbath Mode" under the control panel features and operation. This "problem" is a minor operator issue and is not a malfunction of the appliance. This is commonly reported by customers to service companies to have corrected, but the repair is unnecessary, and usually NOT covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. The reason: It is a designed feature of the appliance and considered “operator error” in most cases. What this means is you may be paying someone big money to push a couple of buttons and “fix” something that could have taken you minutes to correct yourself. Sabbath Mode can inadvertently be activated by pressing the wrong sequence of control panel buttons, or following a power outage. The procedures for turning Sabbath Mode on/off are referenced in your owner operator manual under operating instructions. Manufacturers provide different procedures for activating and deactivating the mode, so instructions may differ. I hope this helps avoid the need for a service calls in the future and saves you money.

Refrigerator is not cool

check the damper-vent door located between the freezer and refrigerator compartments to see if it might have gotten iced over and stuck shut,if so take a hand held hair dryer and thaw it out, then check for operation,if it still doesn't move when the refrigerator temp control is adjusted, then it can be the temp control itself,or if its electronic it can be a motor operated damper-vent door and the motor could be bad or a control board if its electronically operated such as a digital temperature read-out unit

Maytag Dishwasher MDB6100AWW - control panel short??

If you can take the panel out dry it with a blower. You can use the hair dryer to remove the moisture. Do not point the hot air on the components for more than 20 seconds. Repeat it. If you notice any white/green fungus remove it. Check the connectors also.

Bad control panel. Replace the control panel at When your control panel clicks like that it means that a resistor or solder joint has gone bad and it is cheaper and easier to just replace the board

Electronic Control Panel Problem

Anyone else experiencing this problem might want to try the following. We removed all affected rubber push buttons, exposing the electronic printed circuit panel behind the protective glass. We sprayed a soft rag with "M.G. Chemicals Heavy Duty Flux Remover" and pushed it in each opening in the glass panel, twisting it to clean the circuit panel behind each push button. We then cleaned the back side of each rubber push button with the same flux remover chemical. Since then, the push buttons require the slightest touch to activate. Surprisingly, when pressed firmly they don't work as consistently. We're hoping this is a lasting solution.
