Question about Sony CDX-M800 CD Player

1 Answer

Face panel Screws

I lost one of the 2 face screws of my Sony cdx-m800 car stereo. It's a very small screw that has raised smooth top that the face moves on with regular threads on the end. Any assistance on where I could find a replacement?

Thanks
trini

How do I remove the back cover from my flatscreen plasma TV?

Cover a table protective blanket.
Place TV face down on table.
Remove the stands legs( 2 screws each) then 4 large screws the legs attach to.
Or remove the wall mount brackets.
2 small black screws middle of the cover (above the component interface box).
Remove the component interface box, 5 small black screws , 2 on top, 3 on bottom.
6 black screws by the PC connection ports, (3 above, 3 below).
2 black screws on either side of the AC input plug.
12 screws around the perimeter.
Then the back should be able to be lifted straight up.

Just installed an XDM7615 Dual stereo and the face plate won't detach. Can anyone help? The manual says there is a button behind the face when it's in the 'eject' position but pushing this button does...

There are 2 very small screws on the back of the face plate that need to be removed. Once these are removed, you may then remove the face plate.

Just a question as to how the base attaches to the tv?Don't have the unit, at a friends house and wants to know how to remove, looks like it attaches at the bottom, is this correct?

Most tvs have four to six screws that go in the back just above were the mount goes in at the bottom of the unit. look for a 8 to 10 inch raised area or 3 screws in a row, 2 rows. Face the tv face down on the bed with the base hanging over the edge. Some tv's like L.G.base just push into the bottom with 2 or 4 screws holding it in place. The screws will look much heavyer then the ones going around the set. maybe round top not flat topped

Black out

this is a coincedence. The CDX-M800 had a HUGE problem with the ribbon cable on the face going bad, causing this exact problem.
$14.00 and some time will put it back into perfect condition.

I am going to replace ribbon cable. How can I connect cable to face?

The Face cover is snapped in, so you need to use a small flat tipped screwdriver  and run it around the black and silver plastic cover, and it should snap off. Take Your Time!

it seems like the ribbon cable, the one connects the face to the main board is damage.
I don't know if you can replace it by your self, because you need a little bit of experience on stereo repair, but you can try.you can order the part from pacparts.com
