SOURCE: I have a Kenmore frontload washer and the fabric

It appears your dispenser solenoid has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

It could be something as easy as a sock caught under the agitator. Or if it is an older model the drum break may have stuck on or partially on. I would need to know what model it is?

Loud metal noise from right rear wheel Volvo v70

If they're drums could be rust on the drum rubbing on the backing plate, or a loose brake component rubbing inside the drum.

Hi, I have a frigidaire front load washer, model FTF2140ESO, that is making a high pitched screeching noise when it enters into the final spin cycle. The noise ramps up in volume as the drum spins faster....

Some times screws can work their way out near the drum and rub against the drum causing the squeak. You might have to take off the back of the washer and see if there is anything loose contacting the drum.

If you have tried using different input devices, looked for loose contacts
in power outlet, RC Jack, cable and connectors, the TV might need service.

DRYER MODEL DE7400P FRIGIDAIRE IS MAKE NOISE LIKE RUBBING METAL HOW DO I FIX?

Hi martyski39...

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your dryer drum is mounted in the rear with a bearing, most likely the bearing is faulty and making the grinding noise, or maybe two conditions exist.
1...Bad drum bearing noisy
2...Bad drum bearing noisy, and with play in the bearing allowing the drum to rub the felt seal away at the door making metal to metal contact.Check your door for obvious rub signs...
I will include a parts house webpage link where you can look at you "exploded" view of your dryer and order parts also.

The dryer drum feels loose, with a lot of play when heled through the open door. When in use it sounds as though it is rubbing internally. I have had a look but cant see how the drum is held in place....

Hello,

I dont know what make or model you have but most dryers run on guide rollers at the front bottom but also have nylon or felt bearers around the front and rear of the drum there is also normally a brass bush at the rear onto the drum shaft. To get the drum out you normally have to remove the rear casing or on some you can take off the side panels for inspection. It can be repaired depending which bit is worn and how much.

Hope this helps.

Noise in dryer Frigidaire model fde336res1 when running

Could be the drum bearings are worn. These are what the dryer drum turns on and when they wear out the drum and frame rub together (metal to metal). Also could be the belt idler which keps the belt tight around the drum. In either case the dryer would have to be internally accessed to determine failure.

Lg dryer - front load - making a grinding noise

I also have the same problem as klrlesimmons, exactly as described. Sounds like sand is rubbing as the drum turns, and also sounds out of balance.

Repairmen replaced upper and lower glides and also the plastic bearing but not the entire bearing assembly.
