Question about Whirlpool ACP102PS Portable Air Conditioner
As soon as the compressor kicks on, the ac shuts off and trips breaker...Any suggestions are appreciated
It sounds like a short or ground in the compressor. If you have an ohmmeter, unplug the unit and use the meter to check the wires to the compressor. Connect 1 meter lead to the compressor case then to the wires coming from the compressor 1 at a time. If none are grounded then connect 1 meter lead to the Com. Then connect the other lead first to the run wire, then to the start wire reading the resistance each time. neither should be less than 1. You can also check the condenser fan.
