The pop you heard was not likely the lamp but a part in either the main power supply or the ballast. This is not a DIY repair. I would suggest that you get a repair estimate from a local service shop. My first inclination is that the ballast has failed.

The ballast is part number: DSETUD147FMF9
Total cost: $285 with a core of $120. This means that upon the return of the "bad" ballast, you will be refunded $120 making hte final cost $165 for the part.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Check the lamp.
Pull it out and look at it.
More than likely the lamp has shattered inside the set and needs replaced.
Bulb replacement is made for consumers and can easily be replaced.

If the fan was bad it would take a bit more than 10 minutes for the lamp to be destroyed as the set monitors the temp of the lamp constantly.

I would actually suspect if a genric lamp you got two bad ones OR the Lamp ballast that fires the lamp is bad, ballast is most likely the issue.

Lights and fan not working on my microwave

was the fan working before you replaced the bulbs? Did you check the old bulbs ie filaments broken....if two bulbs stopped working at the same time probability suggests that the problem was not the bulbs, especially since the breaker fired when you put in new bulbs.
Could be a short inside ...if you are not brave enough to take it apart and inspect better you take to be looked at ...better a fried microwave than a fried you...

Check capacitors cp624, cp647 1000uf@35v each. They are in the power supply. Can be seen with bulge on the top. Seems to be a common problem with this model RCA.

We heard a loud pop & now the lights won't work. Tried new bulbs & nothing. Can we order/buy a new light assembly?

Best to look for a wire that shorted out ( made the popping noise) and repair it.
Turn the power off and disessable the fixture carefully looking for a wire that the insulation ha worn through or that has broken or come free. You'll also probably find a nice burn mark.
Check the breaker that the light is on also ... it may be tripped

How to replace toyota corolla front indicator bulb

I know this is old, but the answers are much more complicated than the actual solution. WebRepOverall ratingThis site has no rating(not enough votes)

If you look at the indicator you can see a hole where there is a screw. grab a philip's head screw driver and remove that screw.
pull it out and you will see the light is attached to a wire, wiggle the black piece attached to that wire out of the light. (don't pull the wires)
now you have the bulb. push it down and twist and it will pop out.
put in a new bulb (push in and twist)
pop that baby back into your car.
shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do.

Well the right bulb was burn out completely and the left one was partially burnt out,so that's why it worked after a while. I didn't need any tools I just unclipped the light housing and unscrewed the old bulb an put in the new.I googled it and found a good site that helped alot with pics and directions.
