Question about HP Officejet Pro L7680 All-In-One Printer
My printer is printing text backwards and I also can not get my printer settings and the printer tools options to open from the HP Solutions Center. I saw an error pop up that said there is a Port Configuration error. Also one of the HP Technical Support people said that I might need to download the a new driver and software but I don't know what driver or software to download. My printer is connected with a USB cable cord from computer to the printer.
Each time I cut on this printer it goes thru Checking Device for a few minutes and I am not sure this should do this each time I cut the printer on. I am not sure if I sure uninstall the printer and reinstall it again because it may have not been installed correctly. Finally I still have the original disk that came with my printer but the manual does not give detail info on how to correct printer issues. There are times when this printer prints just fine but for some reason on yesterday it started off printing just fine and then started printing text backwards. I have checked to be sure the mirror image is off and it is so I am not sure why this particular printer is doing this. My other options from the HP Solutions Center will open but the settings and printer tools options will not open up. When the printer was first set up these options opened with no problems so I have to assume that these problem are either a driver or in correctly configured port problem or I need updated software downloaded to this computer but I do not know what driver or software to download or how to configure the port. I am frustrated and confused about how to solve these particular issues. I have also printer a diagnostic report that seems so far to print out normal but does not show any report about these problems listed on it. I Need Help in getting my printer to print normal and be able to access my option features from the Solutions Center. I also saw where it said if I uninstall this printer to Don't uninstall the HP Photo Essentials but if I uninstall this printer I was told that it will uninstall everything ???
Thanks to anyone who is knowledgeable about this particular printer in helping get the right info so I get my printer problem resolved and not damage my printer or download the wrong things that could cause my computer issues as it relates to the correct downloads for this printer.
First you need to uninstall (you will not lose your photos nor document..all of this you have already saved) disconnect and unplug..if you still have the original software disk the printer came with we will start all over like its brand new out the box. once you did all of that reinstall follow the on screen info/plug in when prompt ..or you can get the software / manual from (you need to type your os you are using) 98/me/xp/vista or 7
