Question about Yahoo Mail

2 Answers

Hi! I wonder if you can help me. I have just accessed my yahoo account and discovered an email from a contact who is not only unknown to me, but is also giving me an order number. I have deleted it as, at Christmas, I had Trojan Horse warnings, and since then have placed no internet orders. Hence my concern. The name on the contact is 'cglove'@yahoo.com which I have googled, but this still does not throw any light on the matter. My son is getting married soon, and I do know my sister in law is couriering a present for him to me, but didn't say she'd given out my email address. Can you help me to find out what this might be without compromising my laptop privacy, but also what would the best course of action have been, if deleting it is not appropriate, please?

It is all spam. You need not worry. Ignore it. Somebody wants to hack your account by asking you to open the mail and then signing in.

Hi,
If this was a real order the email address would be something like: customerservice@companyname.com, not cglove@yahoo.com.
And the order number would not be stated in the title for privacy reasons. So chances are this is a spam. I would have deleted it too.
In the future, when in doubt, just put the email in the spam folder and wait if your package arrives. If it doesn't ask the person sending it if the number correspond.

Can's access email account

Hi,

The prompt you are receiving is called "Second sign-in verification," and it is designed to protect your account from unauthorized access. You can clear the prompt by having a verification code sent to your non-Yahoo! alternate email address or mobile number on file. If you don't have either of these options, you can contact the Account Security team by filling out the following Help form:

http://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?l...

Please submit a request on this issue by selecting Yahoo! Accounts as the product, suspicious activity as the category, and received security warning prompt as the subcategory.

Note: Be sure to completely fill out the help form so that the support team has all of the information necessary to assist you.

Thanks.

My email account has been taken over and my contacts are getting emails from UK asking for money. What can I do to fix it? account with problem is connietolleson@sbcglobal.net

Change your E-mail password. Contact your ISP (SBC) and tell them that your ID has been "hijacked" -- if you don't contact them, they may "freeze" your account, and cut-off your Internet access.

Some one is sending emails to all my contacts.. using my yahoo email ... what can i do ??

This is probably due to the fact that the intruder has some kind of access to your account from another location. This may be on a mobile phone of a friend which you used to check your e-mail but forgot to log out. As a result of this, the phone must have saved your username and password automatically thereby giving the person unlimited access to your account.
In this situation, the best thing to do is to try changing your password whenever you log in again. This would affect wherever the person is logging into your account from. When next the person is trying to log in, the person would be asked to input the new password which is most likely unknown.
Hope this was helpful?

The error, LaunchEmptyResponse occured when trying to connect to Yahoo Mail

We've discovered that with some browsers (Internet Explorer) 'trip' Yahoo's servers security for some reason preventing access to email accounts.

I suggest that you download and install either Google Chrome or Firefox to use as your browser. After doing so, you should once again be able to easily access your Yahoo email account.

Download Google Chrome browser here: http://www.google.com/chrome

Download Firefox browser here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
