Depending on the temperature & humidity level in your house, the temperature difference of the air entering your air handler and the air blown into your house should be in the 16 - 21 degF range. The temperature difference of the air entering your condensing unit and the air leaving your condensing unit should be between 25 - 30 degrees, with 30 degrees being for older model units. Anything above 30 requires cleaning.

What problems can occur when you overcharge the hvac


The level of overcharge will dictate the severity of the possible problems. The most common problem with overcharging is creating high compressor head pressure which over-amps the compressor motor which waste energy and shortens compressor life. Installed high pressure safeties will usually shut off the unit off and must be manually reset. High system pressure also results in higher evaporator temperatures and higher air discharge temperatures. Grossly overcharged systems could return liquid to the compressor, destroying it.

check stat calibration. see if you can measure temperture at stat. the thermostat cover temperture reading is not that accurate.

Hvac superheat verses subcooling


superheat is the difference of line temperture at suction of the compressor to the pressure converted to temperture for freon used in system. subcooling is the difference of temperture measured on liquid line compared to pressure measured at discharge line converted to temperture for the freon used in system.

2.5 ton goodman coming on but the fan isnt blowing air throught the ducts smoke


>check for the content of refrigerant from the accu-chiller maybe the refrigerant pipe has a leak that is why the condensation of the basic refrigeration cycle does not takes place so in return high temperature is producing on the fan coil unit to which the air duct to supply fresh air to the room is discharging a smoke instead of a fresh air.
>check if the accu-chiller has an air restriction from its condenser fins because if it has an air restrictions the hot air from this unit cycling around cannot discharge to the atmosphere that is why the FCU to which the airducto to supply fresh air is connected will be producing a smoke.
>check for the FCU fan motor overloading to which the airduct to supply fresh air was connected that is why it is producing a smoke.

Central air unit out side will run non stop in hi temp cond and not cool very well, coils have been cleaned along with condenser and evap. it will run and turn off in early morning hours, freion is wher it...


Here is what you need to do to make sure your system is charged correctly go to the furnace take the temperature of to supply temp and take the return temperature at the furnace. You should have 18-20 degrees temperature difference if your return temp. is 77 degrees you should have 57 to 59 degrees. If you dont have these temps your system either wasnt cleaned properly or not charged correctly. If this helps please rate me and do a testimonial.

Yes , the Refrigerant level is good , I would say the control panel is bad , or there is a problem with HVAC Air Delivery/Temperature Control Circuit Description
The vacuum actuators move the air valves in the HVAC system (except the temperature valve). Vacuum is applied to the actuators through the mode selector in the heater A/C control assembly. The mode selector consists of a rotary vacuum switch. The rotary vacuum switch supplies vacuum to the vacuum actuators according to the operating mode selected by the driver. A small servo motor moves the air temperature actuator. The small servo motor positions the door according to the voltage level from the temperature selector in the heater A/C control assembly. The temperature selector is a potentiometer positioned by the temperature control knob on the front of the heater A/C control assembly.
Air Temperature Actuator
When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, battery voltage is applied to the air temperature actuator. The actuator receives ground at all times through the following components:
• CKT 251
• Ground G204
The temperature selector is a potentiometer with a wiper arm. The wiper arm is electrically tied to the air temperature input through CKT 733.
When the temperature selector is moved between COLD and HOT, voltage to the control input varies between 1 and 12 volts. The temperature valve motor solid state circuitry performs the following tasks:
• Looks at the control input voltage
• Moves the motor to correspond to the control input voltage
The temperature valve moves for the following reasons:
• In order to allow the air to pass through the heater core
• In order to allow the air to pass around the heater core
This control achieves the desired passenger compartment temperature.

Unit not cooling


Low on refrigerant charge! Low side line should be cold like a beer can at the inlet of the compressor with some sweat beads around it. 55deg. The discharge should be around 125deg just hot enough you cant hold it long!

Schrader valve extremely slight leak


No I don't think it will. They make a tool however that will allow you to change the schrader valve core without losing any charge. You can get them at HVAC supply stores. ($30+)
