Conectivity issue Hi, I have a Belkin wireless router connected to my desktop at home and then I also connect my laptop through the wireless connection. It has always worked great.....until I had to renew my subscription to Norton antivirus Protection. Now I cannot connect my laptop to the wireless network. What do I do to reconnect???? Thank you.

In normal cases Norton wont affect this issue, unless some how it has a firewall blocking it, does windows manage your wireless connection? what does the laptop say when you try to connect?

Norton internet security in some cases blocks anonymous requests for internet access. (your laptop) There are several ways to fix it.
1. If you go to Norton's configuration, you can select things that norton will unblock and allow.
2. Call Belkin and ask them what type of ports would need to be forwarded in order for your laptop to work.

Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer'sLAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin'sconfiguration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop withthe router's wireless settings.

Laptop stopped connecting via wifi to home network.

The wireless settings in the Belkin has been setup with encryption.
You can restore the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and press the RESET button for 7 secs.
It is not wise to leave your wireless router unsecured, anyone can access your network and Internet connection and use up your allocated download limit. Once you exceed your download limit you could be slug with addition charges - this depends upon your contract with your ISP.

Wirless router

nope...
your desktop can also go onlie using the wireless belkin router,so this router will now act as a distributor, you need to setup the router between the modem and the computer that is wired,i hope that when you say modem it is the one provided to you by your internet service provider, what you need to do is to conect the modem to the router and the router to you desktop computer, you desktop computer will go online using the wired connection to the belkin rotuer and you laptops will use the wireless connection..
