SOURCE: Intermatic pool pump timer, time clock won't turn

Check your wiring, it sounds like it's not right. The clock needs 120 volts to run.

As long as you get a new timer that is 220/240v and is the same amperage or larger, you should be fine. Wiring would be the same.

Pool timer can not get the plate to turn. Can lift the teeth but will not turn.

Timer is not identified.
Copy following link to help identify timer, and download possible manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#HB31
And then add comment with clear description of timer, and what device the timer controls, and add if this is new timer, or timer that worked before and stopped working, and about how many years old the timer is.
Most timers come with limited 1 year warranty.

Pool time switches pool on, but off does not trip off, and can't do it manual. When I push it on off, the pool pump tries to stop but continutes running. Have to use breaker box.

Model number of timer is not known.
Is this new installation? Or installation that worked before and recently stopped working?
If the manual override lever on timer does not turn Load on-off, then 1) wiring is wrong or 2) timer has gone bad or 3) pump has a short.
I suspect a short since you say the pump 'tries to stop running.'

Need trippers for older unknown model number amf paragon pool timer. timer is 15 - 20 years old

Paragon no longer makes timers or parts, except defrost timers.
Typically, defrost timers are not used for pools.
Open following link to possibly identify timer and tripper part number.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html

If you want a new timer for pools, Intermatic makes the T101 120Volt and T104 240Volt:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html

If you want T100 series timer with fireman's switch that turns off heater 10 minutes before turning off pump:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html#pool

If you have energy-saving 2-speed pool pump, and thermostat and pool light, then buy P1353 digital timer with enclosure. Enclosure and timer sold together as P1353ME.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html#P1353
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/PE100-series-with-P1353-timer.pdf
P1353 is not easy to wire or program for novice, so you can add a comment or repost question on fixya and I will catch it.

Open following link for parts diagram and parts numbers:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/PF1222TB-Freeze-Protection-Control.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html#T100

The control center has two 240Volt timers and one timer has fireman's switch to turn off heater 20 minutes before pump.
Unit also has thermostat and relay. PA102 thermostat is best suspect for part failure, but problem could also be shorted wire, or short at the pool pump or heater, or a bad circuit breaker.

First thing I would do is look at all connections to see evidence of burning and electrical smell. That could isolate problem quickly.
Next I would disconnect thermostat and relay, so just the timers are connected to power, and then flip breaker on, and use manual overrides on timers to see if everything is operating correctly. Then one at a time, reconnect each wire and check again.

Purchased new intermatice pool timer and it will not turn pool on but will turn pool off.

Timer is not known.
Timer is probably not wired correctly, or on-off trippers are not on the dial.

Add a comment with model number that appears on inside of timer door.

My timer for my water feature looks like your Intermatic T101R3 timer. I do not have an instruction manual. Can you e-mail me some simple instructions for using this so I won't get charged an...

T101R3 is outdoor pool timer with fireman's switch.
Some are double-pole, some are single pole, some are 240V and others are 120V.
They each look like the other so eyeball identification is not enough information.
The model number should be inside door of timer.
http://www.poolandspacontrols.com/products/mechanical%20time%20switches/pool%20and%20spa%20time%20switches.aspx
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/mechanical%20time%20switches/24%20hour%20dial.aspx
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx

I have been unable to locate manual specific for these products, and I have looked.
I was looking yesterday for this instruction manual.
Some wiring diagrams appear on following page, but again it depends on your specific model
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html#T100

The T101R series is designed to control pool pump and pool heater.
Fireman's switch automatically turns off pool heater 20 minutes before pool pump is scheduled to turn off.
So you set the trippers on dial, and then the fireman's switch does the rest automatically.

Add a comment with in-focus photo of inside of timer door and I can put together all the information and simplify instructions. Put your digital camera in 'macro' with the flower-symbol to take close-up photos. Photo has to be in focus so I can read information and see wiring schematic.

My intermatic pool tmer will not set time or let me auto. turn to on so I can't filter or backwash pool

Problem points to electric power.

1) For best possible free answer, please add a comment and give model number that shows inside timer door.
This will give expert access exact manual for the equipment you have, and show what voltage you are working with.

2) You can also review Intermatic pool timer sell sheet, and pool timer site to help identify product:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Pool-and-spa-catalog.pdf
http://www.poolandspacontrols.com/products.aspx

3) If you have mechanical dial timer, see if manual override works.
And then check electric power.
Check circuit breaker.
Check if manual override works.

4) If you have P1353 digital electronic timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/P1353ME-digital-time-clock-mechanism.jpg
P1353 digital electronic timers have auto setting.
Check programming.
Programming for P1353 is complicated, and longer than space allowed for free answer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Intermatic-P1353-manual.pdf
Programming starts on page 25, and you can add a comment about any specific part of manual that is confusing.

Brand new Intermatic timer for pool, but it will not trip the pool ON...It does trip the pool OFF only??????

So you can turn the pool timer off using manual override.

The center dial is also turning.

These 2 things mean the timer is working fine, but you forgot to put the OFF tripper pins on the dial.

5def96a.jpg Picture shows Off tripper coming in contact with lever that clicks lights on and off. The lever is connected the manual override. So if manual override is working, then the lever is working.

1ba8aca.jpgThe ON and Off trippers are different color
