If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

Oster microwave trips breaker on start

Hi if breaker trips off it means there was short circuit happened within the circuit.Even if you try to replace the fuse with a new one,It wont help because short circuit that happened in the circuit and must be fixed first. It would be better if you let a technician see the oven.IC's or Integrated Circuit has been short circuited and some IC's might have been damage that needs to be replaced.Hope this helps.

Neff h5642 doesn't start at all. No lights, no display. What should I check first?

safety fuse (internal) will have blown usually caused by faulty inverter short circuit if fuse changed and blows again this is what it will be costly repair if out of guarantee.

Microwave blows fuse when turn on

If it is blowing an internal fuse it could be a lot of things.

-short in the motor
-short in one of the other components
- gunk/dust could be causing a short

If it is your house circuit breaker/fuse then either the microwave draws too much current/amps for the circuit and you should try another circuit or you already have too many things/appliances plugged into the same circuit (not necessarily the same outlet) and need to unplug one or more of them so that the 'fuse' doesn't blow.

No power need to reset or replace fuse

i take it,you have power at the outlet?then unplug unit remove cover, discharge hi-voltage capacitor with something insulated, replace ceramic 15 or 20 amp fuse, most hdwg stores have them if it again blows then suspect a h.v. diode,h.v cap, magnetron, triac,or wiring shorted or a defective electronic board

Microwave oven blowing 20 amp ceramic fuse

Chances are if the varistor fails, it fails drastically causing a short circuit across the supply. It will sit across the supply (it will look like a thick ceramic capacitor) and you can check for continuity after isolating that at one end. If it shows low resistance (it should show almost open circuit with a Digital meter), replace it.

It need not be the culprit. If you are familiar working with High voltage circuits ( they are lethal inside a microwave ovens as the current capability is high here), you can discharge the doubler capacitor and isolate the high voltage diode to check for shorts in the HT area.

Fuse keeps blowing.

couple questions -
what else is on the circuit,
and what current does the oven need

there are whirlpool over-range models with
1200watts of microwave,
1500watts of convection power, a
60watt bulb and a
375watt fan

over 15amps -20amp circuit needed

if you inadvertantly replaced a higher current fuse with a 15amp fuse, it will blow every time.
the install guide reccommends 20amp
not a solution, something to check,

Whirlpool AVM 230 Microwave short circuit

If the fuse or breaker blew again, you probably have a shorted high voltage capacitor. If not, then you may have a shorted high voltage rectifier diode.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
