Be sure the batteries are inserted with the + and - facing the correct way.

If this is a brand new camera, are you able to return it? You should not have to "fix" a brand new camera.

I also have had this problem. first i bought the camera and it worked fine for a couple of days. but then it started having problems when i would turn it on. sometimes it would work. other times it wouldn't turn on.
i tried using different batterys. i tried putting the batterys in backwards. finally i got fed up with it and i returned it. i just figured maybe the camera was bad. however, my new camera worked for a couple of days and now it won't turn on. i am very disapointed with this camera.

I have the same problem, i am going to call kodak. It was working fine with newly charged batteries and it suddenly turned off and wouldn't turn back on, no matter what i tried. I don't know what caused this.

I downloaded easy share software (i don't know what that has to do with anything), but I had the usb cable attached to the camera. then i went and purchased onlyl alkaline batteries (which is the kodak recommended solution). NO MORE KODAK FOR ME. if this thing doesn't work all thle time, it may as well not work any time, because when you want it, it's on the blink.

Camera Kodak C180 On receiving the camer it

This is a "budget" camera on the low end of the quality scale. Quality control isn't very good and if you just bought it, return it...it's obviously defective.

What do you do if your camera Easyshare c180 dont turn on?

Here are the steps for the no power problem: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

My C180 easy share won't turn on.

Kodak's advice is disinformation & damage control: this is actually a product defect--it's a firmware bug that affects most Kodak Easyshare cameras, but Kodak will probably never admit it. The problem usually starts after you change the batteries or connect the camera to the computer. Google for "Kodak easyshare wont turn on" - there are more than 8,000,000 results. Just returned my new camera to the store because it locks up every time I change the card or transfer pictures via the USB port. Thought I was getting a good deal, but now I know why this was the cheapest camera they sold. What a waste of my time & money. So it's usually NOT the batteries fault--the real problem here is Kodak's low quality engineering.

I have a Kodak Easyshare C180 digital camera. I open ity, take a picture and then it closes. I then cannot get it open again. I see the on/off button but nothing happens

Is the camera LENs won't retract? Try to use a brand new different recomended batteries like alkaline batteries or lithium batteries. If your using a rechargable batteries make sure that they are fully charge. You can also try to turn the camera ON without using memory card. Remove the memory card on the camera. Then put a new recomended battery, try to turn it ON if the camera will not turn ON or stay ON call kodak support line. Support in English and Spanish is available at 1-800-235-6325 (23KODAK)

hi i just to have silimar problem with old panasonic, kodak and polaroid cameras.

try to use Duracel alkalines, not the cheap ones with out alkaline those are for remotes and clocks. flashlights.

if you are using rechargables make sure they are 2700mha AA NiMH or higher. lower won't work(there is another kind of rechargeables batteries those don't work on it).

for the lithium i never used them. they were kind of expensive compare to alkalines.
If i help. please rate me :)
