Question about XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8500 Graphic Card

Hello,i really hope someone can help me.so the thing is....i have been using my pc for 3years,have windows 7,have NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT,never had problems,but now....already for a month the problem is-when i switch on pc its showing all these things what pc have and its just loading and all letter have white spots...then i log in and all screen is with 4bit....tried to change it to 32bit but cant do it...its jumps back to 4bit....then went to preference....its shows that it didn't recognize the device-my NVIDIA GeForce 8500,so i do the same few times(changing from4bit to 32bit and restart) -like 20min,and the its working fine again...but its showing up everythime when i switch pc on...like come home from work bla bla bla...dont know what is the problem,video card or its all pc or its just monitors,but monitor is 2years old and its pretty good one Sansung SyncMaster 2043nwx Hope someone can help me thank You Linda

This problem is from your Vedio card. You may need to run windows 7 upgrade advisor on your system to see the devices that are not support on your system. Althernatively get the vedio card manufacturer site and see if the have update driver for windows 7. once the right driver is installed the graphic on your system will come out good. and the setting will not clear each time you restart your system

Usually, it works the other way. The machine / card gets hot and the video goes out.

In your case, it sounds like things get better over time. So, you might want to check your connectors to the video card. My first guess is that as the machine warms up and the contacts become better with expansion.

Anyone can help me the drivers software of acer aspire 4750g graphics driver "NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 540M for windows 7 32 bit operating system"

Select this driver: NVIDIA 8.17.12.6619

The driver maybe need to be unziped when down loaded.

I m using geforce 9400 gt chipset card from zotac. when ver i try to update my driver to a newer version system color scheme will go down to 4bit and it will refuse to change. its working fine with the old...


Hello dimash, you must remove nvidia old drivers before installing latest driver, go to Start> Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Nvidia Drivers Remove, Restart Computer, i found newest drivers for you video card, which operating system did you install on? To Change Resolution Go to Nvidia Control Panel > Display > Change Resolution > Color depth : Highest (32-bit)


Click save driver to your computer, install the driver, don't forget to restart the computer. Here is the links.

XFX 8500 GT driver for Windows Server 2003 32 bit


I think the Windows XP driver should work. Here is a link to nvidia's site with the recommended drivers:

Have you removed the old drivers and reinstalled the new ones... i.e right click GeForce 6100, uninstall, then reload the drivers you got with the GF 8500
