Question about XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8500 Graphic Card
This problem is from your Vedio card. You may need to run windows 7 upgrade advisor on your system to see the devices that are not support on your system. Althernatively get the vedio card manufacturer site and see if the have update driver for windows 7. once the right driver is installed the graphic on your system will come out good. and the setting will not clear each time you restart your system

Usually, it works the other way. The machine / card gets hot and the video goes out.
In your case, it sounds like things get better over time. So, you might want to check your connectors to the video card. My first guess is that as the machine warms up and the contacts become better with expansion.
Good luck. Let us know if you have any success.
