I forgot the password for My Tecra A8-S8513, I heard that I may need a master password reset in order to reset the password, I took the internal battery out for more than a week, but when I turn the notebook on, it still asks for a password. How may I reset this password so I could get in? Thank you

The Toshiba Tecra A8 S8413 laptop cmos battery (or capacitor?) does not seem to be working. Symptoms: I set the date and time. As long as the laptop does not sleep or go into power save mode the clock...

The RTC (Real Time Clock) battery charges when the computer in on (operating). You can plug the electrical cord in and let the computer run for 24 hours by temporarily suspending any sleep mode or automatic power saving features. This should sufficiently charge the RTC battery.
