Headphone port broken?

most of the time you can just solder the headphone jack back on if you have a good soldering iron and skill to do so otherwise you have to send it in

My zen duh

My suggestion is that there is a loose connection in the headphones and that is why it will only work when it's in a certain direction. That would be the soloution if it was just that one pair of headphones. If lots of pairs of headphones don't work. then it might be that one of the metal plates in the headphone port is broken or damaged. If this is so it might be worth taking it to your local electrician.

If they said itds beyound repair then its probably not feasable to replace the defective part that you think is loose. Probably the entire case and or board assy is defective as they make alot of nON- serviceable pcbs and things inside of things now.
