If you look in the user's guide, you'll discover that "wrong cartridge" actually means "bad print head": Either the head has become clogged with ink or something more serious is wrong. Pop the cartridges out, pop the head /cartridge rack out, and give it a bath (quick google will give many suggestions how to do that).

SOURCE: Office jet 5510 keeps saying wrong black cartridge.

Look on the right side where the cartridge goes, if the spring on the right is hanging loose it might have poked a hole in the ribbon cable at the rear near the contacts. If so it's time for a new printer, if OK, check the exp. date on the ink cartridge and if it's been refilled or a generic ink you may just need another one.

Installed toner cartridge samsung clx6200fx and it keeps saying install toner what is wrong

Did you get a Samsung toner cartridge or an off brand? Toner cartridges have small chips that tell the printer how much toner is left.. Not all of those chips will work correctly.

Brand new lexmark original cartridge is not recognised. error report' no cartridge'. all contacts cleaned machine dismantled and cleaned and reassembled. has done this before on occasion with refilled...

1. Open the top front cover of the printer. If the display DOES NOT read Close cover or Insert cartridge, the 32 error is not caused by the toner cartridge and printer service will be required to fix the problem.

2. Make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed for this printer model.
1. Check Lexmark for a list of compatible cartridges for your printer.
2. If the wrong toner cartridge is installed, remove it and install the correct one.

3. If the correct toner cartridge is installed, it may not be seated correctly. To ensure that this is not the cause of the error, do the following:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Reseat the toner cartridge.
3. Close the lid.
4. Power the printer back on and check the display.

4. If reseating the toner cartridge does not clear the error message and the error started as soon as you installed this particular toner cartridge, the cartridge may be broken. You can check this as follows:
1. Power off the printer and then reinstall the old cartridge. (You can also try a different new cartridge to see if that clears the error.)
2. If the error does disappear, the problem may lie with this cartridge. Please contact the point of purchase, especially if the cartridge is brand new out of the box.

5. If the error cannot be cleared by putting in a new toner cartridge or one that is known to be working, the printer may require service to fix the problem.

Lexmark c534dn unsupported cartrige

This error message appears on the printer screen when the printer thinks the wrong toner cartridge is installed. To clear it or identify a service requirement, follow the steps below. I put in the wrong (or jammed in the wrong ink cartridgein an HP 5610) all in one printer. Now I can't get it out.

Is the carriage stuck somewhere else or is it inside the access door? If it's somewhere else, you have to move the carriage to the right (towards the access door) manually and remove the cartridges. I wonder how you could install the wrong cartridge(s), the carriage should never accept it unless it's the correct cartridge (I don't think it's the wrong cartridge number, instead the installed one of the cartridges to the wrong holder).

Now you have to remove the cartridge forcefully, otherwise there's no another option to take it/them out from the carriage (holder), but first bring them to the cartridge access door.

I can't make this specific since you didn't mention the situation, whether just can't remove it or there's something more. If it's only that you jsut can't pull it out, try again, but note the position of the cartridge and make sure you pull out to the correct direction, otherwise you may damage the holder (will not break easily, so you need to apply more force).

Let me know if you need further help.

HP J4580 WILL NOT ACCEPT REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE

First check and make sure you are installing the correct cartridge. Many look the same but are not interchangable. If the cartridge is correct use an alcohol wipe and gently wipe the contacts in printer and on cartridge. Allow to air dry and recheck that is all that is normally needed. But cleanliness and correct cartridges are very critical damage can be caused by trying to force a wrong cartridge in.

LCD panel says "wrong cartridge" and machine will not operate.

Hi, Each printer model has a different cartridge model, If u insert the wrong cartridge it will not work. If the Model is correct then do check if its properly installed in the printer, faulty installation too will give you an error.

J3 error On Xerox WorkCentre Pro - 215

A J3 means the toner cartridge is not compatible. That is the what the J3 message means.
Make sure the correct cartridge has been installed. For example, a Pro16 Toner Cartridge looks very similar and will fit in the machine, but it will display a J3 fault. Install a known correct Toner Cartridge if you suspect the cartridge in the machine is the problem. If the wrong Toner Cartridge has been used, the correct cartridge needs to be ordered and installed in the machine
It is possible the chip on the back of the cartridge is bad. Have you tried reseating the cartridge? Maybe it is just loose.
