Question about Televison & Video
Keep trying assorted hard drives made in the same time period as the set top box. You might have to use the jumper setttings on the drive. Although I got an old 4gb drive to work in it.
And be reassured. That 90% of the drives you try in it, will fit. But it will not allow you to put the front cover back on, unless you do some cutting work.
As for hard drives:
Better off using seagate drives like the one inside of it. I found this set top box one of the easiest set top's I have repaired as of yet. It was found thrown out! Manual, remote, the works!
I also use a lite-on DVD burner inside of it because it's more-fragile-than-fragile DVD burner faulted. (Would not read disks, but laser was active in original disk loader)
And PLEASE handle those ultra-thin IDE cables inside of that thing with EXTREME care! They are glued to the bottom of the HDD and DVD. So peel them off slowly and gently.
