I bought a Dell 966 with a Dell Inspiron 1521, as they were a dell together. However, my inspiron has vista on it and the 966 only supports up to XP. Does anyone know where I can find the drivers to install to make the scanner work?

The above link will take you to the Dell Support page for your printer. It has detailed instructions on what you need to do. Please follow them carefully and you should have no problems. And make sure you download the Windows Vista drivers.
What operating system are you running on your dell 1521 laptop? What drivers are supported on your Dell 720 printer?
If you are running Windows Vista on your laptop and there are only drivers for your printer up until Windows XP and nothing is on Dell's website for your printer in terms of drivers, then you can only try to run Windows Vista in Compatibility Mode.
If this doesn't work, then you'll need to get a new printer.
Hi, The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work with Vista.
But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.
1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Dell 966) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.
Go out to Lexmark web site and look for a vista update in their software download section. So this should solve your problem. Most of the cds which come with equipment do not contain vista software and drivers.
If you previously were using a parallel connection for the G85 you will need a USB cable.
If your laptop is running Vista the G85 will work as a printer, I do not think there is a scanner driver for Vista for the G85. The G85 print driver is built into VIsta, you only need to turn on the printer and install the USB to have the printer automatically installed.
ya its vista issue i have same one my dell works half butt most of tiem also cuse of drivers aint relly made for vista keep looking on dell site for new vista drivers only ever other week its updated ok
