Update windows & pick custom & not express update. This will allow windows to scan for missing drivers/hardware. Update software for you're hardware. Once all hard ware is updated re-start the PC. Did you run the 4-in-one software? You might have missed installing the device or installed a device software that is not turned on in your bios but you are not using it.

Check you're device manager for missing/needed controllers/drivers. ( After Windows updates are completed).

Chances are the PCI communication device is the CNR slot on you're board also known as a PCI simple controller. Everything integrated into your board will be called a PCI device & if it's called a PCI communication controller (controller / driver, same thing), it will have to do with communication. The CNR built in to you're board is a PCI communication device. The modem driver. If you're not going to use this than disable it in the bios. Go through pages 27-30 & check you're bios settings. Or it can be the Power Management/APM is turned on in bios. Once you update windows this will show up with-out the yellow !/? point.

It all seem tougher than it is. You can narrow it down by checking the bios & what is turned on & matching this to you're device manager. It will take some time. (I know all too well) but it's worth the time.

    Luck.....

    Mike & thank you too!

How can i do install p5gc-mx 1333 drivers for xp pci simple communication controler

These drivers can be found at the ASUS website:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx
Select Product : Motherboard
Select Series: Socket775
Select Model: P5GC-MX/1333

Then just select your operating system. Then download the driver to a flash drive and run the setup program from there. This should get your network card running..

Motherboard Simple PCI Communications Driver Code 28 for modem

Hello, Mike.

In case you still need this:

To find and install the driver for the simple communications controller:

Go to Device Manager and click on the pci simple communications controller

Go to Properties and then Details. You will see a code like PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...
The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in the example the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabse.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your hardware.

From there, you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

Hope this helps.

PCI Simple Communications Controller

Hi, I have a solution. If you go in device manager, click on the pci simple communications controller, go in property and then go in details. You will see a code like per example PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...

The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in my case the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabase.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your
hardware. From there you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

In my case the pci simple communications controller was a Microsoft UAA Bus HD audio. I also had another pci
device that didn't work properly, using the same method I found out that my pci device was an HSF PCI internal modem with code number CX11252-11. I had a hard time downloading one of the drivers, after 6 or 7 times the download started so be patient if you have the same hardware
.
NOTE: to access the device manager, go in control panel, then performance and maintenance, system, hardware and finally device manager.

Hopefully this helps you, good luck.
