What is the model number of the router that you have? By default the IP of the router is http://192.168.1.1,or http://192.168.0.1 depending on the model of your router.Just type that on your address bar. The username is admin password is password. To reset the router properly press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and then unplug the power for 5 seconds and then turn it back on.after that access the address of the router and you will be able to configure it by then.

Hai,
Go to your browser's adress bar and type routerlogin.net.
Now you will be asked to enter username and password. The username is 'admin' and password is 'password' itself.
Now enter all the settings in their places as said by your ISP.

Port forwarding won't allow individual apps

The 2wire HG is an old 2Wire, they've come out with several models since that one. It sounds like the firmware isnt working correctly. You can try resetting it to factory default. If you do that, hold the reset button down for at least 30 seconds. 2wires take a good 2-3 minutes to re-syncronize.

When you have solid green lights, open Internet Explorer and it will say page cant be displayed. Clean out the address bar up top where you normally type www stuff (and make sure its the address bar, not the seach bar so many people use). Type 172.16.0.1 to get into the router. Run the system setup wizzard on the right. When it asks you to put in a password, it means make one up. Then you need to click on run system set up wizzard again. The key code should already be in there and end in F2NV. Click next, set your time zone, click next, put in your userID and password, click next, after the reds dots, you should be online. Now go back in and try to open your ports. If they dont stay open this time, then you need to think about swapping the router out. The newest model is the 2701.

Moden and Router aren't connecting to wireless laptop

I would just try holding the reset button in for 10 seconds on the router. it would be the easiest and first step towards solving the problem.

ROUTER PASSWORD

The universal pword is, believe it or not, 1234
Here is the website with exact instructions from NetGear itself - these instructions are for the v4 version of your router - make sure this is the correct version of the WGR614, or else this exact page will not work for you - if you have v7 instead, go to the v7 page, etc.
