The remote control of your cable/sat remote may be operating on same frequency as the tv's sleep timer. Try using the tv's original remote to power on/off once to readjust it.

Check the owner manual as it is likely if both out the set has a lockout feature that got engaged--it will cause this exact issue--if no manual then google the model number with manual to try to find it---also a call to Panasonic customer service may be helpful....depends on who answers the phone--if you get "I have no idea" etc ask to speak to tech support person who should almost instantly have an answer.

Tv shuts down after 20 mins or so need to unplug for a time to re start then will run again for a short time

projector tv works like a projector.
the superhot bulb needs cooling, and if the cooling fails, it shuts down.

so what you have is either the fan is not working, or the cooling system is not working.

have to fix it professionally.

panasonic is well known for two capacitors 1200pf 2k volts, also it has been known to short out the mosfet transistor, it sounds like you only need to replace the caps.

Panasonic pt-51g53w

Usually, when a Panasonic projection powers up for a few seconds and then shuts down, it is because one of the convergence IC's is shorted and drawing too much current. This is usually very easy to troubleshoot because the shorted IC causes one of the large reisitors near it to glow red hot just before the set shuts down. The set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Panasonic projection sets.

Sounds like a power supply problem. I am sure that the pop is the fuse blown. If the fuse is blown, this means that there is a short somewhere. Rear projection TV are like LCD projectors. And all of them use Switch mode power supply. If you are lucky, there is a chance that a protection device (like a varistor) is sorted. This means that removing this, even without replacing will bring your TV to life, however... Most probably the power supply is defective.
