Upgrade Windows 7 Starter to Ultimate

You should have a certificate of authenticity with your copy of ultimate. If you don't have a genuine copy, the best advice would be; not to try upgrading. It may work for a while but you will have to activate the updated installation at some point and microsoft will probably recognise that it's a non genuine copy. You will then start to have problems with updates, slow running etc.

Keep getting Win7 not genuine

If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 7 and has a valid Certificate of Authenticity (COA) label attached with a valid licence key, then you should be able to go through the Windows Activation process and get your copy of Windows revalidated.

I am a victim of counterfeit windows

Your screen probably is dark and has the Windows Genuine Advantage message. You may need to reinstall a genuine windows software to resolve this, but in the mean time you can remove windows genuine advantage message by installing RemoveWGA 1.2. Go to this site http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/RemoveWGA.shtml
to download it. Install it and you will have your computer running well again.

I bought a new hard drive for my dell. i need a copy of windows xp home edition that will work with my certificate of authenticity sticker.

Hi,

I see you have a new Hard Drive.

I also see that you need XP that will work with the Sticker you have the only way to do that is to call Microsoft so they can give you information on how to change the Product on the XP you have and be able to use the one on the sticker you have.

Even if you download any othe windows XP it will take the product key and let windows install but after 30 days it will all say that windows is not genuine in the end.

Calling Microsoft will be the best option for you regarding your query since they are the only once who can assist you in changin the product key of the XP you have and have it registered as the product key you have on your Authentic sticker.

I hope this explains everything, have a nice day.

Yes. you are using a Pirate or Fake Windows XP copy. That is illegal. Now you must download a software called "WGA remover for xp". Download and install it. Thats it.

Pcg-fx55v/bp - how can i reinstall my windows xp

If you have the original software from which it was installed from you can use that CD.
All you need besides the CD, is the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) For your installation to actually be genuine. If you do not have the Original software/Installation CD, then that is one thing you need to obtain.

Says my windows xp pro is not genuine and also have no audio driver

There's no reason to 'purchase a genuine Windows7 upgrade package' if your XP Pro is legit, you simply need to find your CoA. XP Pro is supported until 2014 (assuming this lil' rock we reside on lasts that long).
Once you have your Certificate of Authenticity in hand, it's simply a matter of starting your system with your XP cd in the drive, and choosing the 'repair a previous windows installation' option...It'll ask for your 25 character cd key, which is on your CoA. If you run into problems during the activation stage, use the 'telephone a Microsoft representitive' option, and just tell the rep why you found it necessary to re-activate (major changes to system hardware, etc.)

How will i identify os win xp loaded in mp pc is original or duplicat?

Not sure if your concern is if XP is counterfeit, or just an original installation, so we will address both.
One of the easiest ways is to look at the system properties. Right click on 'my computer' on your desktop or start menu --->Properties-->General Tab. It will show version and registration information. Look for a brand e.g. Dell. If it shows a known brand it probably is a original installation. Some small OEM computer makers fail to brand the computers, but all the major brands will. It could still be an original operating system with a new installation (by user), in which there will be no brand name or support info.
Four ways to find out if it is a copy or counterfeit.
  1. First look for the Certificate of Authenticity on the bottom of the computer. If it has that, and brand information from system properties, it pretty much is an original install and not copied or counterfeit.
  2. You can call microsoft with the product i.d. and license number to see if there are duplicate registrations. Not my favorite option.
  3. Go to the MS Windows Comparison How to tell site and it will help you determine if it is legitimate.
  4. Download updates, especially the "Windows Genuine Advantage". This update will verify the authenticity of the OS, and if genuine allow you to download additional optional updates.
I hope this helps!
