Question about Sony Ericsson Walkman W810i Cellular Phone

ITunes to Sony w850i

Having trouble moving my itunes music to the Sony using copy2disc. I have even tried connecting the phone via usb as a removable drive and coping directly to the memory stick, not sure why I cannot get this to work. Seems like the newer songs are coming down in a protected format that cannot be changed to an MP3 format. I think this is why I am having trouble getting the music on the sony phone. Do you have any suggestions??? I am frustrated and beginning to regret purchasing the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TMelton

Thanks

Yeah, I prefer MP3s to M4A (iTunes) - more reliable.
Try Googling for "M4A to MP3 converter".
http://www.download.com/Magic-M4A-to-MP3-Converter/3000-2140_4-10726540.html
Also, I hear many problems with Disc2Phone - it's a pointless application; use Media Player. As Blackie2005 says; try putting your memory stick straight in the USB and copying to there.
If you go to Menu > Organiser > My Stuff, you can see all your music there.
I'm guessing you're downloading your music from the iTunes website? (Yuk) some converters can strip the copyright.

How do you play itunes on the hero htc?

there is not itunes for the hero, itunes is an apple product. If you are wanting to play songs you downloaded from itunes on the hero, all you have to do is drag the songs onto the SD memory card under a folder called music.

Playing music on htc hero from itunes library of macbook

One issue should go first ahead of your question --- is the music you want to transfer from iTunes DRM-protected?

1. If they are non-DRM .mp3 or .m4a, you can either use one-stand free iTunes transfer like DoubleTwist or iTunes Agent which dose good job of transferring iTunes music to HTC Hero; or you can manually frag and drop by following those steps:

Step 1. Plug in your phone via-usb to Windows Computer

Step 2. From the "HTC HERO Phone" pull down drop-menu from the top and select with your finger the menu that says "USB Connected Select to copy files to/from your computer.

Step 3. Select Mount ("on the phone")

Step 4. The Default Windows Removable Disk shows up (on the computer), select open folder to view files. Here you will see the phones & applications file structure.

Step 5. Select the file that says DCIM then 100MEDIA this is location for your music, pictures, and videos.

Step 6. Open up My Computer or Windows Explorer in a seprate window on the computer and copy and paste your files into the 100MEDIA location.

Step 7. Final step, from the phone pull down the drop down menu from the top and select Turn off USB Storage - Turn off - you will see SD Sync.

2. If they are DRM-protectd .m4p music .m4v video files or other protected .wma wmv files, a 3rd party DRM Removal Software is a must-have tool to strip DRM license and convert format to HTC supported .mp3 audio and .3gp video.

Transferring is as easy as what was stated above.

Mini iphone ka08. not recognized by itunes or windows explorer

iTunes is specific for Apple related (and protected) music/players (iPhone, iPod, etc.). The Ka08 reads any MP3 file. To copy files to your phone, connect your phone via usb to pc, open file explorer, locate the mp3 files you want on your phone, copy, locate and open your phone (usualy the last 2 (two) 'removable disk') (the first one is usualy the memory card and the second one the internal memory) (use of memory card is strongly recommended), if you haven't done already i recommend you create (on the memory card) a folder called 'MP3', and paste your MP3 files there.

How do i transfer Music to my Iphone from my computer, Once plugged into the computer the songs that are currently in the iphone are unhighlighted and cannot move songs to or from the iphone.. Please help

You need to create a playlist for the iPhone. This isn't intuitive and I don't know why it's this way. It works great, there just isn't anything explaining what to do. This seems to snag Windows users the most. Maybe Mac users are already used to doing things this way? I don't know.

Below is a picture of my iTunes. Look down in the lower-left corner and see that my playlist is highlighted. At the very bottom-left corner you can click the plus sign to create a new playlist. Then drag all of the music you want to the playlist. Finally, in the music tab of your iPhone, make sure you click the playlist you just made to sync all music on that list to your phone.

This will do the trick.

Transfering music

Go to Sony site and download the driver for your phone
http://ma3-origin.extranet.sonyericsson.com/drivers/
Step 1
Remove data cable from usb and put it into a different one
Step 2
Connect your phone to the computer with the cable and turn it on.
You might see "Found New Hardware" wizard. DON'T let Windows search for the driver; point it to the driver you just downloaded, and install the drive on your computer.
After the driver as installed you should be working 100%

Downloading problem

I am pretty sure you need to use Itunes software, because Windows Media Player is not a compatible software Itunes. So I suggest you use these instructions: 1. Install Itunes on you computer via the disk that came with your phone or via internet on the Itunes website. 2. Transfer all of your music to Itunes( it is pretty easy) when Itunes is installed a window should pop up stating if you would like Itunes to import all music. ( IF NO WINDOW POPS UP THEN DO IT THIS WAY) 2b.While Itunes is open follow this procedure click File Scroll to Import or Add Folder to Library Select folder Click OK Repeat till all music upload this will take a bit longer , but you can now be able to use your phone.
