We have a VizioE420I led smart tv that will just shut off & then turnitself back on at different intervals? we were told by the tv specialist it was the dish satellite box....the dish guy said it was...

Make sure your remote is not shutting off the TV. Turn the TV on and remove the batteries from the remote or take it into another room for a while. If it still shuts off, the power supply unit int the TV is overheating and has a thermal safety that shuts the TV down to avoid a fire. If there is a large amount of dust build up in the back of the TV. Get a can of compressed air and take the TV outside and blow the dust out. This may help.

After hooking up a dish network system my volume quits woorking

I have seen this happen, working with a satellite dish. You may have to call your satellite service r for a reboot. Or you may pull the decoding card out and unplug the satellite box. Wait ten minutes, insert decoding card, plug the satellite box and power it up along side of the TV. If problems persist, replace the box. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

I am trying to connect an Insignia flat panel TV to my existing Dish satellite system. Dish satellite system is not HDMI. We have: cable from the wall (satellite) connected directly to the new TV (exactly...

Hi,

I really need to know the model number of your Insignia TV and which connections you are using between the Dish box and the TV to give you the correct answer. If you are connecting both cable and satellite, I believe it should be set-up as follows:

1. Connect cable feed to TV
2. Run auto channel scan on "cable" setting
3. Connect Dish box to TV and then try changing the "input" selection.

With the Dish box switched on to a channel number you know, try pressing the "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button on your Insignia TV remote repeatedly until you find the satellite feed. Once you have done so, you should be able to change satellite channels using the Dish remote.

If you need further assistance, please post back with the model number of your TV and details of the connections you are using on the back of the TV.

Regards,
BElectric

TV turns on at night.

check your TV's timer setting. typically you'll notice something different about the standby light - for example, it might be a different color, or might be blinking, etc to indicate that the timer feature is activated.

SATELLITE DISH

Sure you can, if you have Dish Network go to the receiver and turn the TV and receiver on. Then press menu-6-1-1. This takes you to the point dish screen. You will come out with better results using a compass to find the azimuth the dish should be pointed toward and bore sighting the dish by pointing it in that direction. You then will need to move the dish in very minute increments pausing for 15 to 20 seconds after each move to ensure the satellite signal can be found. If you have ran a check switch prior to this and have lost all satellites you more than likely will not receive a signal until you run another check switch and have found the signal of at least one of the orbitals. If this proves to be to tedious and many times it will you can usually find an inexpensive signal pointing device at a store like Radio Shack. Hope this is some assistance to you. Let me know if I can be of additional assistance and thank you for using Fix Ya.
