I have been downloading yahoo messager for 3 hrs now and it wont finish down loading and plus my contacts are not in there

Download the Messenger from Yahoo.com, Launch it, Click on the plus sign(+) (which is right underneath the contacts tab) to add a certain person with either their Messenger ID or Email address and choose there network, press next, add any additional information you want, click finish, double click on there name, and start typing, you will know if they are online or not if there smiley is yellow or gray or you can join a chat room by going to The tab *messenger*, then to yahoo chat, and click join a room, and choose what room to join and begin chatting.

If you are not able to download yahoo messenger from the internet try this one.. just click the file and save it..after finish downloading.. run the software..

• Install messenger by Clicking HERE
• Simple Setup File will Download
• Click on it and Run without Disconnecting internet Connection
• Downloading may take Several time Depends on Your Connection Speed.
• After Downloading Completed Click Next Follow instruction Finish Installation
• Yahoo messenger Icon will be automatically place on Desktop after installation
• Click on it(if there is not loaded Messenger Automatically after Installation)
• Type User Name Correctly(your Yahoo ID)

• You will Ask to Type MESSENGER ID(Type it Properly)
• Click on Next
• it will ask to add in a group(usually will be FRIENDS)
• Click NEXt
• It will add Contact
• Then Your Friend Will get Request from you
• He SHOULD ACCEPT your REQUEST
• After Accepted,If you are in Online he will see you as online and same to you(Usually yellow Icon){Both should be online/Signed in}
• BOTH HAVE MESSENGERS for Easy chat..

Check if there is any Anti Virus running which is blocking the direct installation from server....stop that....or contact your ISP or network admin.....

wich operation system are you using?
if your running NT or xp or vista try running **** cleaner download from www.ccleaner.com it will clear out all register problems and clean up stuff that was created installing the first time.

Messenger 9 for Vista users and XP users with 9, Mess 9 has many unsolved problems and missing features that messenger 8.1 or 8.0 has. Plus now the updated Windows Firewall will not let Messenger download correctly.And is causing 9 users to have problems now.. The only option that might help is going to the control panel and turning off the firewall to download and install then turning it back on.Then click on windows fire wall, Exceptions tab. make sure messenger is checked,if not listed then add it to the list.then click save.

You need to remove version 9,or present version, 1st to get another version to work. To remove Messenger version Use Unwise located middle of page of Messenger Folder.Make sure Automatic is checked! then continue to uninstall..Or use control panel ,Vista-program features or XP-add/remove this is the 2nd best way. If you just delete the Yahoo file to remove messenger,you will also lose the shared file that contains things needed on other Yahoo sites. Your contacts are stored online But if you want to save your old messages archives,they are saved on your PC in the messenger file you are about to delete.Go here and copy them to a new folder
