My Panasonic DMC-LZ3 camera appears to have locked up

My DMC-LZ3 camera appears to have frozen/locked up. The camera turns on and I can see from the LCD what the view finder would take a picture of if it worked. However no buttons work including the zoom so can no longer take pictures. The lock up affects all modes including viewing as it just displays the very last picture that I took and I can't scroll through or delete etc. Even hooking it up to PC via the USB cable to download the last pictures taken can't be done as it won't recognize the pushing of the select button to select PC once connected. Any fixes for a camera lockup?

I encountered similar problem today with DMC-LZ3. In scene mode page is constantly scrolling with page no. decreasing. I suspect up button is jammed, but have no solution. Have tried power off, up button tapping, card out, etc. maybe time for next camera

Make sure the scene mode dial is correctly "clicked" into a choice. You could also try this...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Panasonic DMC-LZ3 takes three pictures with one click why?

You have it on "auto bracket". Press the up button of the 4-way controller twice. Then you should be able to select on or off.

Panasonic DMC-LZ3 upgrade

Unlike some of Panasonic's other models in the DMC category, the LZ3 does not include a microphone (the little "dimple" on the top is where it would be).

In other words, even if the software could be upgraded the hardware does not support audio recording.
