Voice client... Works on it's own or via Yahoo Messenger or YahElite. No install necessary of codecs or direct-x. Works directly with Win32 sound api. Written in .NET and able to run on Windows XP and Vista 32-bit.

Which Version of vista & yahoo messenger you are using...?
http://break-therulez.blogspot.com/2008/03/yahoo-messenger-vista-special-edition.html

Yahoo! has released some previewsVista and Yahoo voice - t.gif of its newly rebuilt Messenger application for Windows Vista. Yahoo! built this version of Messenger from the ground up, and uses pretty much all of features you are used to, but with a few little tricks. Features in the new Vista version include instant messages, voice, and video. Contacts from your Live Messenger can be added to Yahoo!, and you can see and interact with them as expected. Conversations can be organized with tabs through dragging and dropping. Of course there will be some added eye and ear candy with additional emoticons, sounds and interface customization. Yahoo! has a video preview of the Messenger application running in Vista, which you can check out heret.gif. Pretty cool! Yahoo has been really going all out lately trying to steal back some market share, and I'm sure they will steal some with this rebuild. Good job Yahoo!

ITS NOT DOWNLODABLE From the Yahoo Site it will provide u a web installer for online installation.....
You can download it from link provided above & choose from the two version 9 Beta Or Vista Special Edi. ( But Remember Vista Spl Edi. Does'nt have Conference feature..

Hope This Helped you..

Poor voice connection on yahoo im

Some times it might be problem with Network jam.

You have to check Your mic..
>Go to Action
>Call Setup
>Next
There you will find an idication tab to view your Signal Quality of Mic...
TRY to speak...There wil you find The differences...
And follow the instruction and Finish..

>Check your Jack of MIC(same time your Ear speaker Jack too)
>Change your Mic
Still same
>Tell the other one to change his mic......

Sometimes other Electronic device may create noise(Speaker and so)

Your problems Should be solved...

Hi,

If you working on Windows VIsta and you Messenger is Messenger 9.
It might have an issue with voice. Try installing ..TSP Codec (Use Google Search). Once installed you will be able to use your mic with Yahoo.
If not you might have to change your mic. Does it work on your computer?
Thanks

My computer is not detecting microphone when making internet phone calls.

Troubleshooting - Can't get voice chat to work.
Here are a few things you should know and check for to get the voice chat to work. · Firewalls - the voice chat feature may not work well behind company firewalls. Even though you can get other features of Yahoo! Messenger to work, the voice chat feature uses separate technology and may not work as well.
· Check connection - When you enter into a voice chat with friends, each participant should take turns trying to press and hold down the Press to Talk button. Everyone else should see their name turn red when they do that. If you see their names turn red, but don't hear anything, it may be a microphone / speaker problem, or it may be that we have more bugs that we need to fix. If you don't see their name turn red, you are probably having connection problems and that's why it's not working.
· Get the latest version - Please make sure that everyone who is using the voice chat feature has the latest version.
· Check mic and speakers - Check that your microphone works and that your speakers are turned on. Here's how:
* make sure the mic is plugged in correctly.
* adjust the mic properties.
- go to the control panel (start button -- settings -- control panel)
- click on the multimedia icon
- you should see a tab for audio
- make sure that the recording volume is set high.
* you can test your mic. by doing the following.
- Click the Windows Start button, then go to Programs, then Accessories, then Multimedia, then click on Sound Recorder
- A new window called Sound Recorder will pop up. Click on the record button (a red circle), then say a few words, then click the stop button (black square).
- Click the play button (black triangle).
If you can hear yourself fine, then your microphone is okay. If you can't hear your voice using Sound Recorder, the voice chat should not work either.

Vista and yahoo voice compatability

Hi,

I had the same problem(s) with Vista and Yahoo Chat. I ended up with a simple workaround that doesn't involve downloading codecs etc., from 'suspicious' places, that may or may not work with your particular flavor of Vista..

First, go here: http://www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/2008/05/29/new-release-of-yahoo-messenger-90-beta/ and get the newest Yahoo Messenger 9.

Then go into a Yahoo Chat room. (I'd suggest one of the romance ones as there are usually quite a few attention strarved women and desperate men chatting away on mics.) When you click on the "Voice" button, you'll probably see this,
"this computer does not appear to have input, or it is not configured correctly" (which doesn't seem a whole lot better than the original compression issues,) BUT, all you have to do is plug in a microphone and everything works just tickety-boo. If you don't have a mic, just plug some headphones INTO the INPUT for the mic. You'll still hear everything just fine through your speakers.

It's not an ideal solution but unless someone out there remembers more than I do about their days as a 'sound guy' for local bands, it shouldn't do any harm.

Good luck.
