I think the problem is with DRAM(memory) it is either not properly mounted or it is not working already. If it is not working already the best that you can do is replace it with new one. If you do have more than one DRAM you should check which one need replacement, you can do that by plugging the new one together with the existing one. You can identify which one isn't working anymore because the older that is combined with the new one will not boot the PC and the good older one when combined with the new one will boot up the PC.

P.S. when replacing consider if it is DDR, DDR2 or DDR3....DDR3 is the latest and also speed of the DRAM should be the same as required by the motherboard..

If you know how to dis-assemble the parts of your PC, then try to clean connectors, display card, memory. The CPU mounting... be careful to remove the cooling fan then move the cpu retainer arm back and forth that is to regain better contacts of cpu leads. if you have an spare keyboqrd, try replacing it, if you have sa defective keyboard controller then you will have failure to boot sometimes. after cleaning the PC pheriperals, put it back and reset your BIOS/Cmos and configure as you neede, basic fail safe setup.

Pxe-e61 media test failure check cable

The PXE error message suggests that your computer is trying to perform a network boot which is why it is saying there is a cable issue.
Check your BIOS settings and disable the option to boot from the Network, plus check that the computer is configured to boot from a valid internal hard disk drive. It is Ok to have a CD or USB device listed ahead of the hard drive in the Boot order as this is normal to allow booting from CD or DVD media or USB devices.
Check that internal hard disk is operational, that the cables to it are firmly connected at both ends (the drive and the motherboard).
If you still have a problem, then provide more information on what symptoms or error messages your are seeing.

Well my cpu wont boot up it gets the the compaq screen but after that nothing i tried to boot it in safe mode recovery and normal boot but nothing happens its not the monitor and i dont think its the vga...

its not the problem of the vga signal.... try any of the following
1. take out the RAM and clean and reinsert it firmly. 2. enter the bios, check whether the booting device is appearing...it might be ur hard drive..if there is not boot device detected, try changing th e booting priorities.. and reboot 3. if your booting device is hard disc, try with the new hard disc after confirming the old is not detected in the BIOS..
and above all make sure all the connections were good

AND PLZ RATE this

EMachines T3656 Desktop wont boot and no signal to monitor

Try to check the monitor cable if it is properly connected to your motherboard. If you will have a video card you need to attach your monitor cable to the video card.

I have an HP pavilion pc that wont turn on

you prolly had the jumpers on the new dvd drive improperly set, you want them set to cable select for most cases.

if, on the top or bottom of the dvd drive, it does not have a diagram of which jumper is the master, slave or cable select (usually labeled, cs), then you will haver to look it up in the manual.

if you were connecting the drive to a ribbon cable that is shared with another drive, both drives on that cable must be set to cable select, or one must be set as master, and the other as slave. if there is another drive (optical or hard drive) on that cable, and it is set to the "master" position, the new drive will have to be set to "slave" OR both drives will have to be set to cable select. if you connected the optical drive (set to cable select) to the same cable as the computers primary hard drive (the drive which boots it) and the hard drive is set to master, then it may not boot, until both are set to cable select, or one is set master, and the other, slave.

the other possibility is that you have exceeded the capacity of your power supply, but that is highly unlikely.

Acer aspire L320 wont boot up can hear drive running I'm fixing this L320 for someone and it also has the same problems as above, i've took the system apart, changed the memory, put the hdd into my own...

When you say wont boot is it getting and video ouput at all? I'll assume its not. Check all your connections. One time i didnt have a SATA cable fully seated, it was just at the slightest angle creating a short and freaking the whole computer out (it was my dvd drive too!). Check all the cables and ram is fully seated as well as the CPU. Only try to boot with one ram stick at a time, possible dead ram stick too. IF its a cheapy motherboard best to just replace it.

Wont boot even with factory cd

When you swich on the laptop push f10 to get in to bios, there is a feature to test the HDD(there was on a hp laptop few days ago), see if that says anything useful (that should take a while), and try to change the boot sequence at boot options, first should be the cd/dvd rom than the hdd. This way your pc will try to boot from cd first, if nothing than Hdd is next.
Than you should be able to boot from your CD, if not than open up your PC case and chack the cables, take off the power and data cables and reattach them, sometimes it does the trick.
Worst case scenario is that your HDD is dead, if you got warrenty left than use it, if not than buy a new one from the local store or order one from ebay or zipzoomfly, just check what type do you need, the size is up to you, even 500GB drives are quite cheap nowdays. You need to open up your pc and check what type of cable is going to the HDD it can be IDE or SATA to know for sure what type of HDD you need.

Try telling it to boot the CD instead of the disk for now, since you need to install from that...or perhaps a newer OS.
