Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 Digital Camera

Recording I have a dsc-h2 no matter what setting i am on when I take a picture and it says recording.

    My girlfriend's DSC-H2 also has this same problem. Any solutions please?

See those 2 buttons beside the shutter button, one says FOCUS the other is BRK, press that until the M icon on your display disappers. the first time you press it there is an icon with like 3 squares the second press is the M icon, third press it disappears.

Turn the large selector knob on top of the camera to the icon of the green camera. This will place it in auto single photo mode.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 all the photos I take are very bright and when I download to my pc there are horizontal lines on them


The video or images are being recorded too bright or too dark. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the video or images are being recorded too bright or too dark.
IMPORTANT: If additional information is required to perform any of the steps below, refer to the operating instructions of the camera. The operating instructions are available in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport web site.
  1. Remove any accessory lenses that may have been installed on the camera.
  2. Manually adjust the exposure setting of the camera or use a different Program AE mode.
  3. Adjust the white balance of the camera.
  4. Verify that any special picture effect features are turned off.
  5. Take pictures or shoot video in a location with different lighting conditions.
  6. Reset the camera.
If all the pictures and video exhibit the same issue after performing all the troubleshooting steps, service may be required .

When taking a photo there is a time lapse and the screen indicates "recording"


This is normal for most point&shoot cameras, they're simply not designed for speed. More expensive (and more complicated, and heavier) dSLRs will not have this problem.

Then don't do that :-)

Seriously, there's always going to be some delay while the circuitry does its thing to record an image. One of the features of a higher-end (more expensive) camera is the speed with which they can take subsequent pictures.

It happens with film too, though there it's a matter of moving the exposed frame out of the way and bringing in a new frame.

What would be the best settings for getting best picture out of this camera.


You can zoom and unzoom while in Movie Mode, but not while recording.  Sorry :(

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 Record Mode


I had the same problem and you go to menu then REC mode and make sure it is on normal, mine was on multi burst and thats why it was recording on every setting. Hope this helps :)
