Question about JVC AV-56P575 56" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Red burn? Shuttle, Saw you answered another 56P575 question, so I figured I would ask. My 56P575 has a pretty bad red push problem (people are starting to look purple on the screen). I also noticed that the non 16:8 area of the screen is burned at the edges where the vertical bars would go for non-16:8 broadcasts. What do I need to do/replace to make the pictue come back?

I would suggest you take a look at the guns (CRTs) of the TV and determine if they are good, you will need a CRT tester to do this. make sure the CRT is working properly and then adjust the colors as needed. TIf the problem still occurs or the CRTs cannot be rejuvenated, you will need to replace all three CRTs (They are actually a match set).

How do i change the colors from red to blue in the convergence

Easiest way - Using your remote, go to "new set up" and maneuver to color balance (convergence) and make your adjustments there, I say - new set up, because manufacturers rec. using new set up everytime you move the unit.

I have red, blue, and white vertical lines across the whole screen. Convergence shows to be set correctly. Any ideas what may be the problem?

Although the convergence shows being set, it sounds like your convergence is bad. I have a tip at which explains how to fix your problem and where to get the parts. Let me know if you need more help. Thanks for using FixYa and for the generous rating.

55'' rear projection Phillips (dptv335) Red Tint in 4:3 area

Sounds like your fluid in the CRT's need replaced. I would recommend a servicer take care of that problem. The corrosion that ethylene glycol can do to components is vast if you spill it on any of the PC boards. ( You know it as Anti-freeze ). Play it safe---Make a Call.!

Color fine with rca jacks but when using hdmi/component its not

There may be a number of problems that are causing your HD issues. They may exist in your TV, or in the box you use to tune your channels. Contact your cable or satellite provider and ask them to change out your box. If the condition still surfaces, then you need to have your TV checked. The component and HDMI jacks are both connected to the same electronics. This is why they are exhibiting the same problem.

A constant red tint problem (AV-56P787)

This is an indication that the red gun is being driven too hard. Have you tried to adjust the red color control? If not try this first and if the control can not adjust the color then you will have to find out if the control grid on the red tube is working and has the proper voltages present. Which you will need the following equipment to do. Multimeter Oscilloscope Along with these you will need a schematic to show you what the signals and voltages should be. And I might also suggest having a pattern generator and using the color bar signal since more then likely that is the one being used in the schematic as the reference signal.
