Question about PC Desktops
My Presario fan ran all the time. After opening the unit and making certain that the heat sinks were free of debree, I took my Presario to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. For $40 they applied "Thermal Paste" between the CPU and the heat sink. They also recommended that I download for free a program called "Speed Fan" at http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php. This program monitors the temperature and the user can change the speed of two fans in the unit which make the noise. I find that adjusting the fans each to 40% combined with the new Thermal Paste eliminates the problem.088705

How many HDDs/internal devices are you running off *********** board? If you have an AMD processor, they tend to run hot too. If your computer is running agonizingly slow or shutting down by itself, I would suggest you do the following:
Take your heat sink off your CPU and clean off the heat sink paste and re-applying. If you haven't done this before, you only need to put it on in a VERY light film so you can partly see through it. Applying too much can cause over heating.
