My 3m MP8640 Multimedia Projector does not light up.
There is some clicking sound and bricking indicators of both Lamp and Temperature when a switch is pressed to light up the bulb but it doesn't light up and tries several times until the fun also goes off.

I have a 2007 Buick Lucerne and the front reading lamps won't turn off.

Overhead Console Lamp and Roof Rail Courtesy/Reading Lamps
The courtesy/reading lamp is a duel purpose lamp that can be illuminated two different ways. First, the lamp can be turned ON during courtesy lamp operation as described above. Second, the lamps can be turned ON individually for reading lamp operation by the lamp switch. The BCM supplies battery voltage from the INT LAMPS fuse through the inadvertent power courtesy lamps circuit to the courtesy/reading lamps for reading lamp operation only. Ground for the courtesy lamp module or the roof/rail reading lamps is provided at G402

Courtesy Lamps
When either one of the front doors is opened, ground is applied through the door latch door open switch and the door open switch signal circuit to the door module indicting the door open position. In response to this signal, the door module sends a GMLAN serial data message to the BCM of the door open position. Or, when either one of the rear doors is opened, ground is applied through the door latch door open switch and the rear door open switch signal circuit to the BCM is indicating the rear door open position. Once a door open message or signal received, the BCM will then apply battery voltage from the CTSY/RF TRN fuse through the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuits illuminating the lamps listed below:
• Overhead console lamp
• Roof rail courtesy lamps
• Footwell courtesy lamps The BCM receives battery voltage from the INT LAMPS fuse in order to supply power to the inadvertent courtesy lamps. Inadvertent power courtesy lamp feature provides a similar function for the interior lamps as a retained accessory power feature. The BCM will energize the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit when the BCM is in the active state (awake). When the inadvertent power courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit is energized, it supplies voltage to all the interior lights listed below. The BCM will continue to supply voltage to the interior lamps after the ignition is turned OFF so that the interior lamps may be operated.
• Overhead Console Reading Lamps
• Roof Rail Reading Lamps
• Vanity Mirror Lamps
• I/P Compartment Lamp
• Rear Compartment Courtesy Lamp
In the event that any of these lamps were to remain illuminated for a period of more than 20 minutes with the ignition switch in the OFF position and no BCM input activity, the BCM will deactivate the inadvertent power supply voltage circuit to prevent a total battery discharge condition. The BCM receives battery voltage from the CTSY/RF TRN fuse in order to supply power to the courtesy lamps. The BCM applies this voltage to the courtesy lamps through the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuits. When any door is opened, the door open switch contacts close and the BCM receives a door-open signal. If the BCM receives a door lock or unlock signal, the BCM will activate the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit, providing battery voltage to the dome lamps and the left and right footwell courtesy lamps. The courtesy lamps can be manually activated by placing the interior lamp switch in the DOME position. For more detailed information concerning courtesy lamp operation refer to Interior Lighting Systems Description and Operation.

Hello :

Try to change the bulb .

Here is how :

1:Make sure that your power switch is off and that the power cord is unplugged from the electrical socket.
It is also wise to unplug any other cables and label them in order to restore them in the right way once the lamp is replaced.

2:In order to see the lamp, remove the access handle on the outside cover. You may need to use a screwdriver.

3:Pull out the used lamp and clean the relevant parts using micro fiber products and not paper.
Please note that in some projectors a small inside filter should also be replaced.

4:Insert the new lamp into the projector carefully avoiding touching the glass of the lamp itself.
Touching the lamp will deposit skin oil that will likely damage any new lamp during use.

5:Reassemble the access panel, replug the cables and power up the projector.

Things You'll Need:
new projector lamp
screwdriver
micro fiber duster
Warning:
avoid touching the bare projector lamp.

please rate !

The lamp indicator turns on

The clicking noise is the protection switch that keep shutting down the unit. This happens when an internal fault had been detected.

Do the following:

Unplug the unit from power for some time.
Remove the bulp and refit it in place.
Restart the unit.

If still in protect mode (clicking , lamp light and no start), then there is a fault.
When the problem is the lamp, the lamp light will come on, but usually protection does not click.
Before buying a new lamp that is expensive, have the projector checked, testing with particular attention the high voltage board that will supply power to the lamp. That may be the fault.
If you have a replacement lamp in storage replace the lamp first.

Replace lamp and lamp light continues to blink and will not come on. lamp is good but will not power up. fan is on so there is power. any suggestions?

Usually if the lamp light starts blinking and it will not fire up after the lamp is installed then that means that you still have the lamp door of and the toggle switch that detects the lamp door being off is activated and so the tv is in failsafe mode and is not turning on to protect you. If you know that you have the lamp door back on and the switch is pushed back into place as it is supposed to be then the issue is most likely your ballast. The ballast can appear to be the same symptoms as the lamp. If the lamp itself was not damaged or broken then its possible the lamp was fine all along and the ballast is bad. The ballast is the board the connects to the lamp and charges up the high voltage to fire up the lamp. If it is damaged in some way then the lamp will not fire. Just as a precaution you can test the wire connected into the ballast from the power supply board and make sure you are getting voltage. If you are getting voltage and the lamp is good and the lamp door toggle switch is not activated or the lamp temp board wire is not unplugged then you definitely have a ballast problem. Those are the only components that can cause the lamp to fire. The lamp temp board is a little board on top of the lamp housing that just has 1 small wire connected to it that is a thermometer. If that is unplugged the lamp will also not fire. So, requirements for fire lamp:
1. Power from power supply board to ballast
2. Ballast converting power out to lamp
3. Lamp door switch must be suppressed
4. Lamp temp board must be plugged in and functioning.

SP-LAMP-LP3E powers off in 5-20 secs after inital power on

if the new lamp doesn't have a problem, then it's not the ballast, it's just a bad bulb. especially if you didn't get it from infocus. the cheaper lamps don't last long. you get what you pay for.

KDS 50A2000 red lamp light blinking 2 times

Did you use an original Sony lamp? If so, I would say that the problem lies with your lamp ballast, or lamp power supply. Also, keep in mind that, although rare, occasionally the lamp power supply will fail in such a way that it will take out the lamp and any other lamp that is put in. So if your new lamp is blown, it is likely the lamp power supply that is at fault and you will require a new lamp as well.

After the POWER button is turned OFF, and during the
first minute of the normal cooling fan operation, press
the VOLUME UP button on the unit and CH UP key on
the remote at the same time for more than 5 seconds.
The cooling fan operates for about 10 minutes. (LAMP

Toshiba TDP-S20 lamp problem

The lamp ballast which ignites the lamp has failed it sounds like. The red flashing lamp is the tell tale sign with a good lamp installed. Make sure the lamp door is closed too, there is a door switch that can also trigger the red lamp and no startup. There is a company in San Diego CA that can repair the unit called PROJECTOR DOCTOR
