NO. I did with wire co
I tried to update the firmware version on my Dlink DI-624M router hardware from 1.2 to 2.5 and know my router is not working at all. Called customer support and they finally got it to where I can see the router by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds while the power is plugged in, taking power out and continuing to hold for 30 seconds, and then plugging power back in and holding reset button for another 10 seconds and finally releasing the reset button (reset button was held for a total of 50 seconds without releasing).

After this I can ping 192.168.0.1 which is the routers address and a page showing Firmware upgrade is shown and not the usual GUI. It asks for file path to upload so I am trying to use the last working firmware which is 1.2 and 2.5 but when trying to send to the router I get the error "wrong image file” selected for both above files.

It is a .bin file I have tried both of them and here is the link to where I have downloaded it from

What do I do to put firmware on my router? Could you send right Image file so that I can run firmware to access my router.

When you typed in the IP for your router interface page you said you got a different GUI. Was it a D-Link router GUI? Could you get into the router? If you could (password should be let blank since back at factory defaults) can check firmware version? I think it's under the tools tab and firmware. It should tell you the firmware version. If you can't get in, power down your router for like 60 sec, I like to be sure, then boot it, check the lights and see if you can get in. Also, could you please tell me what rev your router is? I think its on the bottom. It will have ser.#, model # that stuff. I need the router rev lwtter. Thanks.

Did you try and upgrade the firmware through a wireless connection? Is the router working?

Looks like the file that gets downloaded has a .bix extension.
Try changing the extension to .bin
Then try the update
I think I had to do that when it first came out.

169 is an internal IP. If you are not already, try a hard wired connection to the router. If this fails, you will need to get in touch with D-link.

DI-524 status problem

Did this happen after a firmware upgrade? If so, this link may help:

http://borgetech.blogspot.com/2007/09/d-link-di-524-revision-b4-status-light.html

Apparently there's a utility which will force firmware to load on the router. The steps are a bit technical, though.

If that doesn't work, the router is probably toast. Time for a new one.

Even with back reset hold for 10 sec. No reset at all

Check to make sure you're using the correct power adapter for the router. Your computer uses a 169.... address when it fails to connect to the router...this is a normal symptom when the router is not working correctly. Your router may have failed and will need to be replaced.
