plugged the mic in, log onto my game world of warcraft to try and use it,the mic simply doesn't show up in the list of microphones available for use.looked around on the computer and couldn't find any sign that the computer even knew the mic was plugged in...kinda annoyed at this point

    Same here.
Purchased a DNCT4 Mic yesterday and nothing's working. There's no instructions on the box either, so I don't know what to do after I plug it in? I've been searching online for a while now on how to fix the problem (because the computer won't register that it's there and won't record) but I've turned up with nothing so far. :(

I have TX-SR503 onkyo receiver. I want to connect a microphone to it so that I can do a karaoke. The unit does not have a socket for microphone. It has a socket for phones. This socket does not appear...

The reason that jack doesn't work for a microphone is because it's a headphone jack. It's meant to send a signal out to headphones, and it doesn't work as an input. If the receiver doesn't have a microphone input jack (and it would be clearly labeled as such), you'll need to connect your mike through the auxiliary input. You may be able to connect with nothing more than an adapter to switch from the plug on the end of the mike cable to the RCA jacks on your receiver. The output level on some mikes may be high enough to drive the auxiliary input as-is. More likely, though, the mike will need a little boost to make it work with the receiver. The receiver needs a "line-level" input, which is higher than the output of most good-quality mikes. To get the mike up to line level you'll need a microphone preamp. There are many types from many sources, at a wide range of prices. Here's one I have used as an example.

You might also want to look for a small mixer like this. The mixer would let you combine your mike and music source into a single line-level output you could run to the receiver, and use the receiver just for the amplifier function.

My Onkyo RC-160 will not come out of the audyssey calibration mode. The microphone is not plugged in, I have tried a hard reset, pulling the power plug and nothing will bring it out of that mode.

It could be bad connection in microphone input jack and receiver think that the microphone is still plugged in. try to plug/unplug the microphone several times it should clear internal contacts of the connector and resolve the issue.

you are owned a no quibble replacment. You have faulty circuitry and no user can replace or repair the internals at this early stage as you will invalidate any warrenty.

No sound playing through microphone

The microphone included with this receiver is for audio adjustments only. That's the "Audyssey Laboratories' MultEQ® six-point auto setup and room calibration system". You cannot hear yourself speaking through the microphone.

Setup microphone not included with purchase of used txsr803

Actually it looks like a small palstic disc so you might jsut get it so look for it. You should get one of those radioshack cheap mics with low impedance if you do not get it.
