I-mac power faliure

I have a blueberry i-mac and when I go to power on it turns on for about three seconds then dies. If I try to turn it back on, it will not power up. I have to unplug and replug it back into the outlet numerous times before it will power on. Help I really love my i-mac.

So you get as far as the magic "hmmm" then shuts off?

An old teal i-mac that someone gave me had started doing that.

When I called one of my Mac friends, he said it is either the power supply inside, or the machine is unable to boot from the hard drive.

So, I gave up on it, and put it in the corner (it was free and I wasn't about to put any money into it anyway)

About a year later, just for fun, I plugged it in, and it worked fine.

To this day I have no idea what caused it.

I would make sure that there aren't any "weird" usb devices, etc plugged into it. It may be trying to boot from them.

I'm thinking that your battery in the iMac is dead or very close to being dead. Or your power cord is no good anymore or your power supply is on the verge of being dead. Hope it helps.

My old blueberry iMac won't come on. I've changed power cords and tried different keyboards. No lights come on. Could it be the power supply? If so, where do I get one and how easy to install?

This is usually due to the BIOS/Clock/CMOS battery dying. If the battery is dead, it won't start up at all.
Check out YouTube for instructions on opening your model, and replacement batteries are available at just about any Radio Shack, or online at various places. These guys may have them, too: http://www.headgapstore.com/

Mac notebook won't turn on, completely dead. I've held down the power button and it still won't start. It is plugged in to the wall and it is only a couple months old

As this is a month old I can tell you if the Ident is right a Blueberry Ibook is not a couple of months old, its around 10 years old. If this is just new to you, the possibility is that the power adapter has failed. Remove the battery from the bottome and wiggle the cord in the laptop while holding the power button down. If you hear a chime, either the jack or the cord is no good. If not you need to get the cord tested. If you have a meter you can do this, if not you have to take it to someone or buy a replacement.

Macintosh Powerbook G3 will not turn on at all

Hi, Sorry to hear you are having problems,
OK, let's try this, #1, remove the battery, be sure the mac is powered down and the power cord is connected to the Mac and a power outlet.
Press firmly down on the power on button for a solid second then release it.
That should start it up.
If it does work, you can safely insert the battery now operate the mac normally...
If this does not work, is it possible that your stepson eh, may have spilt some liquid into or on the Mac? A small amount of saliva in the wrong place could Kill a mac.... Just a thought..

Apple iBook Blueberry power problem

Hello,
This means the system software installed is incomplete. You may simply reinstall MacOS 9 (or MacOS X up to 10.3 for non FireWire clamshells, and 10.4 for the SE models).

Apple iBooke Blueberry power problem

It is a system problem. There is only really one way to fix this.

You'll need to start your mac up from the original OS install disk.

You can then use the disk utility to see if the OS can be fixed or you might need to re-install the OS. Once you have started up from the install disk you might be able to see your drive. At this stage if you have not already done so you should back up those important files.
