Help again I finally got my laptop to turn back on. but now its doing it again. its just turning off. the beeping is gone though. it seems that i need to have my laptop at a certain angle for it to stay on long enough for me to attempt to do anything. sometimes the computer will turn on when it is completely upside down and closed. whats wrong with it this time?

Hi daisy, your notebook was beeping for a reason. If you would have noted how many beeps. Ex; (1 long + 2 short & repeating) & came here with you're description we could have come up with a better fix. However reading your current troubles suggest there is a problem with one or more devices (hardware) internally. Suggest you take the notebook to a Compaq service center for professional for repair.

So hate giving out bad news.. :-{
Luck!

If it is beeping, it has a problem other than the beep that needs to be addressed. This is probably outside the skill set of the average person.

Macbook pro won't turn on

have you tried using a restore point? or resetting it to factory settings, although I wouldn't do that until you are left with no other options....You can try to call the company and see if they can walk you thru fixing it.

Promlems turning on

Hey,
Issue with the memory chips(Ram of the notebook). U need to take out battery and ac adaptor and check for the ram compartment which will have a small image of a teeth or a comb like structure, compartment placed at the bottom of the computer. After U opened up the compartment U will find 2 green chips placed one over the other with two clips holding them from the side.
First push the clips on the opposite direction and then the chips will come out put them back again firmly(be carefull too)
If still beeps then take one chip and boot the notebook if it beeps take this one out and put the other one in if the nb doesnt beep with a ram then the other one has gone bad needs replacement.. if still the issue not resolved replace the ram chips.

When i turn my ps3 on nuthin would show up on the tv. You can't even hear anything on the tv...it's just blank. Someone please help me..!!!!!!!!

Alright mate, Try these steps...
1. turn on the ps3 so it is in stanby i.e. the red light is on. 2. push and hold down on the red button for as long as it takes to turn the ps3 back off on to standby, you should hear a beep. 3. when it goes back to standby do the same thing again, and this time you will hear one beep (when you pressed it) and two more beeps and it will go back to standby 4. when it is back in standby again, push and hold down the button again, you'll hear the first beep, then three more beeps, and it will go back to standby. 5. do the same again, however when it turns on this time, if done correctly, it should say connect the controller using a usb cable. do this and turn it on. 6. Go through everything it says on screen, 6 options should eventually appear, for me, option 4 did the trick, but i heard option 3 works too, as the other ones do too i presume. 7. the final part is that it will ask you to restore the hard drive etc... just keep pressing the ok button.
if all fails, then phone this number (sony) 0818 365 065. glad to help. let me know.... David.

I have a compaq 1200 laptop that won't turn on when i plug in the power supply the green light turns on but the computer won't turn on. I need a fix for it.

The first step I would take is to unplug both the AC adapter and battery from the laptop, then press and hold the power button down for about 15-20 seconds to flush any remaining power from the system. Then plug just the AC power in and try turning it on. If it turns on, then plug your battery back in, and you should be alright, unless your battery causes the problem again, in which case you'll have to run it without the battery (And don't bother looking into getting a replacement, this computer is far too old for that).

If it still doesn't turn on though, then what you may need to do is, make sure it's off, remove the power/battery again, and locate where the RAM modules are installed on the unit, and remove them, then plug it back into AC power only, and try turning the unit back on. Hopefully what this should do, is not only turn the unit on, but also get the computer to emit a series of POST error beeps. If it beeps, then it's more than likely one of your sticks of RAM that's failing (but again, due to the age of the computer you probably won't have much luck finding replacements), but if it still doesn't turn on after removing RAM, then, it's more than likely a failed motherboard in the unit.

I think the bottom line, for this laptop, is that it's probably time to retire it for good. This is quite an aged laptop (Shipped with Windows 98 SE, 32MB RAM...) so chances are pretty good that it's reached end-of-life. If you're concerned over retrieving the data from the laptop though, you're probably still in good shape to have it done. You can either have an authorized repair center do it for you, or, if you want to do it yourself, purchase a 2.5" IDE notebook hard drive enclosure. Which will basically turn your internal hard drive into an external USB one that you can plug into a new computer to retrieve your data.

Powering off

Actually, if it is beeping as though the battery is low even while it is plugged in, it is because the battery is no longer any good and is sucking all the power from the wall. You need to purchase a new battery. Until you get a new battery, you can simply remove the battery and use the laptop plugged in. That will stop it from turning off. Been there - done that. Hope that helps! ; )

My oven wont quit beeping!

It depends on the actual model number (that you didn't supply), but most Kenmore F7 errors indicate a bad keypad or bad control panel. If you unplug the ribbon cable from the keypad to the panel then plug the oven back in and it starts beeping again, it's a bad control panel, if it doesn't beep anymore, it's a bad keypad.

Please unplug the oven power with working on it.

The washer keeps beeping and trying to drain as soon as it is turned on

I have a Haier HDP18PA with the same problem... I tried tilting mine backwards while running...this made a mess BUT the beeping stopped BUT the lights were still flashing. Turned it off and started it again and the lights still were flashing BUT no beeping. Decided to try tilting it forward while running ... made another mess BUT the lights stopped flashing. Turned it off again and restarted it and it is now running fine. Good luck!
