Question about Kingston flash memory card - 256 MB - MMCplus Graphic Card
I use a frontech all in one media card reader, when I use it on my PC with Operating system as windows XP rpofessional, it always shows me it is write protected, I cannot write in the MMC or even delete any thing on it, please advise me as to what Ishould be to remove writed protected icon to write and delete the data on MMC as well
I have a Nokia 6230 and recently each time I put my MMC card in my card reader for my computer it says : "Cannot copy "X file" The disc is write-protected
Remove the write protection or use another disk
I already tried formating the card and even putting tape on the card like I read somewhere but it doesnt work and I dont have the cables or installation software, any help will be appreciated.

All card readers are not the same. I just went through this same thing. I had a new card reader from Radio Shack, 6 slot 5 in one, that I had been using for my new SDHC cards that go with my new Kodak camera I got for Christmas. My old card reader, also inexpensive from Radio Shack, had been put away for a few weeks since it would not read the new High Capacity cards. I had been using the old one for my cell phone MMC card for about 4 years and never had a problem. Today my MMC card showed up as "write protected" when I tried to add a file to it using the new card reader. I searched and searched the web to find an answer and even went so far as to back up my card onto my laptop (I could pull files off but not add any) in preparation for reformatting my card in the phone. Then it dawned on me that I should try the old card reader before I tried reformatting. It worked just fine in the old card reader, just as it always has. Just make sure that your card reader accepts MMC cards which are the same size and shape, only slightly thinner than the SD cards which are so popular. Incidentaly my SDHC cards can't be read in my old card reader or my 3 year old HP card reader in my computer. ALL CARD READERS ARE NOT EQUAL.

The only solution is to change the card reader, bcoz when this "write protected" message starts coming it means your card reader have lost the data reading capability. you can use it to see your files in mmc but you can't delete and add any thing , believe it .
i hve experience it many times..
