Surround sound problems

I have a Genesis Media Labs 5.1 surround sound system and the only speaker outlet that is working is the one labeled (SL- & SL+) could you please give me some advice or maybe send some schematics so that I might give it a try? I,m no expert but with some guidance I might be able to tackle the problem.
Thanks a million!!

I have the genesis g-608, with the same problem. Only 2 or 3 of the 5 jacks have any output, while the remaining have little or no output or voltgage on them. Any place in particular I should start looking? Any help would be grand!

Hi Roy, I am your expert...just wondering if the information i gave you was incorrect? Noticed you gave me a Thanks for trying rating. I have been repairing this type of gear for 25 years.... Just wondering why you gave me the low rating. Thanks for trying is generally reserved for solutions where the solution provider does not really know what they are talking about. I know i am capable of sorting the problem out for you. How did you go with checking your connections and following the manual for ideas first?

    regards Graeme

    hey again Roy... :)

Hope it would not be too much to ask for you to upgrade this rating, its just that they still push your overall rating down by heaps when they stay, and it would be great if you could upgrade me! :P

    Cheers

    regards
    Graeme

SOURCE: no output

The most basic check is to see if there is a blown fuse in the sub woofer unit. Then the power supply should be verified for proper voltage, and load tested. Once this section passes, then it is on to the amplifier in the unit.

You can only have the service manual from the manufacture if they will sell you a copy. It is the same for any dedicated parts.

Not a problem. Just won a Genesis G 6.1 home theater system in a charity raffle...can't find it anywhere on line, or a value...?

Is it a Genesis Technologies or Genesis Media labs? The Genesis Media Labs is a scam, the label will say it's worth thousands of dollars and it's really not. It's know as the White Van Scam, never had one or heard one, guessing the probably work but wouldn't know how to put a value on it. Since it was charity maybe it's worth at least what you gave for the tickets?

Surround sound speaker outlets are not working

Might be a loose connection problem. A contact cleaner is handy in cleaning the terminals. Try to swap the speaker connections if you don't have a multi-tester to check the resistance of the speakers. If the right front speaker will sound after connecting it to the left front speaker output, then it is a speaker coil problem. If not, might be an amplifier channel problem.

No sound from Creative Labs Speakers- Please help

to localised your problem, try to plug your speakers to other sound source like mp3 player ,stereo system. if still no sound coming from it,your problem is within the speaker system. perhaps the audio power amplifier ic inside, need to be replaced.
